I got my sister into James Brown when she overheard me playing a tape (remember them ?) when I was around 15. I had seen him on the Blues Brothers and decided I was into soul music.
Not a massive fan, but just like all great artists theres always something that you’ll like. Something unique and worth listening to or watching them perform. ‘Living in America’ in Rocky 4 always comes to mind, but also some concert footage I’ve seen, has also convinced me of his genius. Don’t care too much about the man himself though. |

He was 41 I think when this was recorded and he's does the splits twice withing the first few seconds of Rapp Payback.
Incidetly this was the Zaire 74 festival to promote a match between Mohammed Ali and George Foreman which became known as Rumble in the Jungle. |
