Have had to get my 14 year old daughter to show me how to send a word document to my email lol. And she is also teaching her nan how to text so the question is what do your children teach you. |

I think its good so many children are pc friendly and if they can teach parents or grandparents its fantastic. I do worry some cheeky lad will get his grandpa looking at on line porn though. |

I just setting up an onlone business.
Son a bit of a computer nut.
I said oh we have to make a website.
Make some business cards.
This was at bed time.
He done most of the website.
Business cards are designed and I thought with my I.T degree, I could teach him some I.T. skills and be the coolest dad in the world.
Well good plans and all that.
Guess I have to find something else.
Most likely making snow men.

I struggle with downloading music to my Ipod, it doesn't matter how many times I'm shown.
My 6 year old niece teaches me humility. She is wheelchair bound but is really pleased with her new chair. She has never really walked without the use of calipers and her illness is progressive so her legs can't hold her up anymore. She loves to show me how fast she cn go in the chair, and to her its a massive achievement that no-one else can do. Her legs don't work but she's as bright as a button and such a happy child |

One thing are recent trip to Uganda has taught me, is how much the kids over here want to learn and that they know just how important their education is.
They want to learn.
This is a big difference to my experiences of kids in the UK, I am generalising somewhat but the difference in attitude and respect is truly staggering. |

I've managed to raise three independent daughters. My eldest has travelled the world on her own for work, my youngest does most things on her own, but I never do.
This year I've booked a holiday by myself to Marrakech...if my babies can do it.
The DVD player on my tv stopped working and I was going to buy a new one. My daughter said to use her Xbox as she had too much work to use it. I asked how that could help me, until she pointed out it played DVDs...who knew?!!

It's just one of those things. How many of us here used to have to set our parents' videos? It's because that's the technology that we grew up with, and our kids today are growing up in a world where most homes have a pc or laptop.
Of course the consolation is that their kids will be doing exactly the same thing to them :D |
