Extended wear contact lenses

Anyone have experience with these?

I can't get on with glasses so am considering contacts, but the thought of daily maintenance puts me off.

Has/does anyone used extended wear ones as I'm considering monthly ones?

Thank you. I've read so many bad things about them I was hesitant to try them.

I would say try them and see, i think you may need more regular appointments but they do take away the hassle of daily lenses and glasses

I tried the lenses you sleep in and ended up at the eye hospital. I was informed by the consultant who was treating me that you should never sleep with lenses in. It’s not a good idea regardless of what the manufacturer says in their marketing.

This was a number of years ago so things might have changed.

I used them for around 6 months but have since swapped back to monthly disposable ones after getting an infection twice. My GP said they were probably the cause.

If you don't want to do the whole routine thing why not try daily disposables?

"I've just started with contacts this week, monthly disposable, they are a lot easier than I expected them to be to be honest "

Thing is - I can't be arsed to take them out all the time.

Daily disposables. No faff and the joy of effective eyesight. My friend wears monthly long wear ones, my eyes can’t take that as they’re apparently high maintenance divas. I would never again go near the old school lenses which need cleaning and faff. Pop ‘em in when you get up, pop ‘em out before bed.

You would have to take them out a lot anyway to begin with until your eyes build up tolerance to a massive foreign object. By the time your eyes have settled once a day doesn't seem so bad
