Seems to me fast foods are taking a massive hit, they aren’t healthy, to much fat, salt, sugar..
Me I love a kebab ( can’t do hot sauces now though, so it spoils it a bit) also love Chinese foods..
But it got me thinking
So 100 years ago no fast foods
Life expectancy 50-60
Now 80 plus
If fast foods were that bad why is life expectancy longer? |

Really?
Mortality rates were high because the average person could ill afford decent health care - and obviously there’ve been many advancements in medicine in the last century!
Within a couple of years of the onset of the NHS life expectancy amongst the working classes increased 10 years!
These days it’s stretched to the limit trying to deal with people’s self inflicted illnesses - but at its creation it was one of Britain’s finest moments!
Now - for the first time ever - my children’s generation is predicted to have a shorter life than my own generation (if they continue with current eating and exercise (or lack of it) trends!
As the mother of 3 children, that makes me very sad!
Fast food should be an occasional ‘go to’ or treat - but for many it seems to be their diet staple - which can only end in obesity and health issues!
Same goes for smoking excessively and drinking excessively! Many of us are pressing our own little self destruct button - albeit slowly!
