What have you seen being binned, that frankly isn't illegal but ought to be

Today it was a skip full of perfectly good books.

Being the skip rat, that I am...I rescued a few for myself.

Brighton - even Hove!

It’s wrong to throw books. Charity shops could take them and I could buy them.

If it's not broken it shouldn't be thrown out at all. There should be better council run services available to make it easier for people to repurpose their unwanted stuff though.

Hiding in the shadows

Anything that is perfectly good condition, in working order.

Things that owners are bored of, replacing, grown out of, have 'gone out of style'

Things that could be donated to projects, shelters, charity shops.

Things that are still working is a bugbear for me.

The car I drive every day is older than ones being scrapped

All of the above. With poverty being so prevalent it really makes no fucking sense to me.

If someone can get some use out of it, let them have it, it ain't that hard.

When I last moved house I filled an 8 yard skip with stuff. I reckon 40% of it was good, all sorts, books, furniture household appliances. No-one wanted it, even when I offered to take it there. Charities, schools, I spent two days trying to recycle it at my own expense. It went in the skip...

At a toys shop I know they throw away hundreds of quids worth of stuff away just because they've been scratched or had a screw missing.....

We've had an air hockey table worth £300 quid just one screw missing that we recovered and repaired...

£600 bouncy castle because the pump was left outside in the rain and it blew the fuse .. we replaced fuse and it works perfectly fine.

We've had Xbox controllers that work perfectly fine just the audio jacks don't work for headsets but they're still good.

We've had Lego displays, dolls, dolls houses and cars worth £100's.

A drone with a very short battery life.

Honest to god you get people/groups complaining about recycling and wasting the earth's resources ... and you get companies like this throwing shit loads of plastics away for no reason its unbelievable... They should donate to charities and all that stuff but they don't because it's money to them.

Fortunately round here we have excellent charity collections and recycling and reuse services. We can at least recycle most things and reuse is very high too.

We have two cars that cost us about £1000 per year plus fuel to run. They will both run until they give up the ghost.

I use Freecycle for when I have stuff I want to give away. It's better than chucking it. I once got a 4 month old dishwasher off Freecycle for free.

I've never thrown a book out ever! Books are my love, however, phoning charities to come and pick up stuff? They aren't bloody interested and never return your call!

Anything portable I take myself or give it away. YMCA took my last load of furniture, and sent me a letter some weeks later to tell me what they had raised from it.

I haven't either. I helped my aunt move to a smaller flat and we reduced her library (I can only call it that) by 75%. When she died ten years later it she had twice as many books as she had before she gave them away . Guess who has them all...

Let's hope they weren't tossing them for bed bugs...

My car is a 56 plate and I've no intention of getting rid of it, just yet.

I'm a serial upcycler. Got a few projects on the go for when I get the time to finish them.

When I say finish, I mean start.

Us too. It always seems such a simple task. I have one half finished and two big pieces of furniture untouched.
