Are they gonna refund the commuters? The gluers not the train company.

I'd be super pissed off if I got disrupted in my business due to that. It would make me want to kick them in the noggin rather than support their quest

Better affordable public transport. There's a sign in Southampton that says 1 bus takes 75 cars off the road.

Must have been good glue. Spent the afternoon trying to glue some beading down but the bastard kept coming away.

Really?

Put a load of protestors together and unfortunately you'll always have a mess, but they've been passive.

I'm not sure using force to combat peoples inconveniences has ever been accepted in the UK.

I guess ultimately what does it take to get people to address the issue? It's about more than liking and sharing a post on Facebook!

I don’t know what it is about protestors and the act of crowds of people getting together to campaign against stuff , but I truly detest the whole thing . Always have , ever since choosing to work through the bakers strike in 1978 . Got beaten up a few times for being a blackleg when all I was doing was providing for my wife and newborn son .

Anyway since then the protestors that march for this that and the other have always pissed me off , even when it’s a cause I agree with . And the latest bunch of idiots are the laughing stock round here because they’ve all travelled to get there to protest . In cars , on coaches , on trains etc... hypocritical or what ?

I love the idea someone else had about helping the glue to work better by using nails too . Maybe save that for Friday , pretty apt huh ?

Its true that we need to cut car usage and it's not happening quickly enough

What are they suggesting as an alternative to car usage?

Better affordable public transport. There's a sign in Southampton that says 1 bus takes 75 cars off the road.

That sounds like a nasty crash

That one was funny "

The One Bus taking 75 cars off the Road, has been a slogan within the Bus operators across the UK for a number of years, as bus companies try to get more car drivers onto public transport.

"I don’t know what it is about protestors and the act of crowds of people getting together to campaign against stuff , but I truly detest the whole thing .

Next time I’m on a march I shall enjoy telling you all about it.

Manchester has a too high level of pollution. Just because there are rules and regulations around this stuff doesn't mean they are being enforced.

"I support any protests or highlighting the way we treat the environment but this is madness in my humble .. as it will drive folk away from public transport and back into their cars meaning more emissions surely ?

That's why they're blocking roads.

I saw some posts from cyclists about how much easier it was to get around without the cars.

I bet it was.

why don't climate change protesters complain about people having children? The only way to solve the problem is depopulation. As it is the situation is uncontrollable and no amount of protests will change anything

Just back from the pub. The cyclists were happy they could get around easily, the walkers talked about enjoying the air in this lovely weather, the drivers (2) complained their usual routes were busier as traffic re-routed. But air quality is better in central London.

Most appear to be middle class and middle aged. The vicar washing feet, yesterday for Maundy Thursday, doesn't really fit your description.

Enjoy the lazy stereotypes, though, it's easier than thinking or even just looking at the pictures.

They are middle class, they also quit thier jobs to "focus full time on protesting according to a few.

But most are just the middle class youth who treat protests as a fesitival

Whos gonna bet this protest leaves massive amounts of trash like the previous ones.

There's nothing I can write here that you, or others, will be willing to consider. Your view is the only one you consider valid.

I don't 'approve', for want of a better word, of all the actions of a small minority of those participating. I do admire the fact that some have volunteered to be arrested, discussing who has most and least to lose and deciding who it will be. It's a new way of protesting. I admire people standing up for what they believe. Change comes from action not maintaining the status quo. I'm grateful the protest has given us cleaner air for a few days. I'm saddened that people are angry at protesters trying to help everyone rather than at the failure of successive governments to tackle something affecting us all. I'm pissed off with people not even in London spouting off as though they have been personally inconvenienced.

I've d*unk too much to maintain my usual composure with lazy forum tropes by the usual suspects.
