Hi all, this is a brave post.
I am swinging with a chronic condition that effects my swinging. I have just started back in the scene after a few months away.
The last two times I have been to a club anxiety had crept in. 14 years of clubbing I am finding this hard to deal with. Also because it’s chroic it can flare up any time
Yesterday was better than my first time I went but i still am having huge anxiety issues. Is it going to hurt am I going to perform? Can I keep hard.
I don’t want to avoid the club scene and it’s a huge turn on but I have just been getting so worried on the other side of things |

"I did go with friends but the anxiety kicked in because the condition flaired. I am still trying to identify ways to make it flair (May have to cut out the booze) "
Avoiding alcohol is a good decision it won't help maybe speaking with your doctor about it (not mentioning clubs) see what they can come up with to help. |

Can you keep a diary to try and see where the coincidences are?
I agree about the suggestion of going with friends to socialise with no pressure. |

If you have a chronic condition always remember health comes first so try not to do things that put you under serious pressure, saying that some brilliant ways of reducing pressure,
You mention pain and anxiety it sounds like a catch 22 situation with your condition so prepare for situations via getting pain killing drugs in the system prior to going out, Miss the booze, for the anxiety you have a few options you can try self help various ways to do mind training
I’ve done mindfulness I’ve been to classes and it’s much easier to learn with a tutor than online, there are even apps you can put on your phone to give you help fast to help ease anxiety
If you are able to get comfortably on the floor you could go to a yoga class, so many people get so much peace and positive energy from a class it really does set you up for the week, well-being and movement does link together and is a natural healthy way forward
There are so many more ways to help with anxiety you just need to try many and find the best one for you
Failing that meds of course but best to use that as a last option if you can |
