I've been portly since my twenties. I like eating food. To be honest meat, fish and veg. Very few cakes. Not huge quantities, as much as many slimmer persons. I have don't have a strenuous job and maybe a slower metabolism. I am lways active . But what sticks in my gut (pardon the pun) is the hate my pounds have inspired in many slimmer people. They see you with a biscuit and lecture you. They make snide comments. They assume they are much healthier. Why is fat so sneered at? |

I personally think its because people arent allowed to make comments about anybody else anymore so fat people are the only ones its safe for them to have a go at! |

I don't really understand..... .....do you honestly believe this post will help or make things better or change the opinion of narrow minded mean people?
Don't get me wrong, I don't care about weight or wobble or slimness or firmness in a person. I see beauty in all sorts of ppl and tbh it usually had very little to do with what the scales say about them. I actually prefer a few curves and wobbles usually, but not always. What I don't understand is why so many people seem to use the forum to say "look at me I'm different and ppl don't love me - LOVE ME!".....
Love yourself and the others will follow, this is my best advice and I truly believe it. But whiney needy posts will only get sympathy from ppl who already sympathise....

Fat is often used as a negative descriptive
If you're being a cunt, then you're a cunt
If you're being a cunt and carry a few extra pounds, you're a fat cunt
It is also seen as a way to demean and to cause hurt
I don't mind being called fat for two reasons
Firstly, I am
Secondly, the fewer of us that are bothered by it, the fewer of us that react to it, the sooner its stigma is reduced
The danger now is the media are going after fat people now much like they did with smokers - only much harder
They are painted as a drain on society and some kind of evil
So, if anything, fat shaming will only get worse

because (as I said above) some people are rude. They're not just rude to fat people, they're rude to everyone. They think its ok to say that your face is hairy, you'd look better if you wore more/less make up, that your choice of music/reading/television etc reflects badly on you, your parenting skills are dubious etc etc etc. Often they proudly dress it up as "truth" or "plain speaking" but it isn't its just bloody rudeness and if you turn it back on them they're mortally offended. |

Yep. I've been called brainy cow, skinny cow, slim women can't give good hugs etc etc and I'm not even that slim. The phrases men want meat not bones and a road without curves is boring are used often on the forum |

Fat is fab - unless it's not your thing. Either way, it's up to the individual and attraction is instinctive after all. You don't choose what type of person you fancy.
