After talking to quite a few people over the last couple of series of Got, I realised some people Won't watch it because other people keep talking about it, my brother in law said "im sick of hearing about it, im not going to watch out if principal"? He's not the only one iv heard say something similar, if you don't want to watch it then don't, but to cut your nose of to spite your face is a bit

OK carry on

I must admit, I was one of those people until I started watching it. Now I’m hooked and every day feels like the longest on the build up to the final season.

These people just need to give it a chance really

In a town Fab forgot

I didn't take much notice of the enthusiasm for it.

Series 6 started and the world went mad.

I was in HMV and they were selling series 1 box set for £10. Why not I thought, it's only a tenner.

Watched the entire series same day, back to HMV the following day to buy series 2 and 3.

Following weekend I got 4 and 5.

I don't have Sky so I have to wait for it on DVD.

Cannotfuckingwait!

I stopped watching it after episode two!

A brother and sister fucked each other and there were loads of REALLY mean people in it - then particularly!

I like programs where people are nice to each other- and the baddies see the error of their ways by the end of the episode!

Perhaps someone could sugarcoat it far me and send it my way?

In the middle

I will be watching it that’s for sure

To be fair though it was kinda slow the first couple of episodes but I think that was because we had do many characters in all the different cities, now most of them have been whittled down ( some in rather spectacular ways) and we are getting to the apex of the story line it’ s rather exciting

Plus as Mr Wolf says who the fuck does not like dragons

There and to the left a bit

I used to be one of the naysayers partly because everyone was talking about it and partly because my perception that it was *just* fantasy, dragons and magic with a bit of fucking thrown in just wasn't my thing.

Then flicking through the channels one day I caught a bit of one of those "50 Best Moments" clip shows about it and it piqued my interest enough to give it a go and was immediately hooked - binged the first few series in no time and now can't wait for next week and am even considering getting up in the middle of the night to watch at the same time as the US!!

Won't watch it but thats because its on PayTV not free to air.

Not going to pay for stuff that would have been free before..

Feels like BBC/Ch4 et all are using those who dont have sky/net flix etc as a test bed.

Many a time a series has started and say after 1 or 2 series, it suddenly dissapears from free to air and appears on one of the numerous paid serviecs (amazon prime is yet another example).

Thing is, the majority of stuff on tv is now rubbish...so I've turned to YouTube to watch re runs of stuff I loved back in the day eg Yes Minister, Porridge etc

And why do GOT fans feel the need to encourage non watchers ?

"I stopped watching it after episode two!

A brother and sister fucked each other and there were loads of REALLY mean people in it - then particularly!

I like programs where people are nice to each other- and the baddies see the error of their ways by the end of the episode!

Perhaps someone could sugarcoat it far me and send it my way?

I stopped watching after the seeing the brother and sister fucking!

Oh god really? Glad I didn’t watch it then!

It's not real, there really isn't any dragons"

Hold on; what what what? The dragons aren't real?

Breaking bad was addictive but I found SOA more addictive

Iv only seen a couple of episodes of that, I'm not a big Charlie hunnam fan, however I'm a massive Ron perlman fan

Biggest shock for me was realising Gemma teller was peg bundy!

Yeah,big hot chick

She's 65 now, and looking well

Yep she is. Married with children. One of the best programmes ever! "

Agreed Married with children was brilliant.

She's also Leela in Futurama.

Charlie Hunnam was in Byker Grove.

I’ve just watched it all again from season one in anticipation of the last season.... it’s bloody amazeballs!!! Lol

I don’t get people who won’t watch something out of principal.....

So what did I do? I watched it!!!

Still don’t like Ricky gervais... but I enjoyed the series...

I probably fall into this catorgary.

From the trailers I've seen I'd probably enjoy it.

Never watched it when first released, we only had standard TV channels.

By the time we moved, got Virgin fitted season 6 had just started.

I cba to play catch up, soneone I then met was obsessed with the show talked non stop about it, tagged me constantly on meme things on FB, even gave me the dvds.

It just made me dig my heels in I wouldn't watch it!

Some of my friends are very anti when I talk about GOT. But I love it. I think it's visually ace, like the characters, the amazing costumes, beautiful locations and just the whole fantasy appeals.

When my friends say, it's shit, I just tell them they haven't watched it enough, then they say, I've watched it a lot so I tell them that they obviously didn't understand it. I'll come up with a positive for all their negativity because GOT is brill

I'm fairly sure those people simply aren't interested.

If you want to watch something, you wont then decide to watch it because people tell you to watch it. They are probably just sick of hearing people talk about something they aren't interested in so they say that as a way to get people to quit mentioning it around them.

I binned my sky subscription due partly to their annual price hikes and the Premier league football TV deal... rude amount of money that's fucked the footer up... I digress... So I didn't jump on the G O T bandwagon even after mates were raving about it.

Whilst on holiday and just wanting a lazy arsed recharge the batteries type of Holly's my bruv in law had a the whole 7 series on hard drive so I watched the first 6 episodes of series 1 and got hooked.

Upon returning to blighty a box set was purchased and I now have 14 episodes to view to the end of series 7. I'll probably keep watching 1-2 episodes per week and then buy series 8 when it's released and hopefully dodge any spoilers or gobby pricks that try and ruin the ending for me.

You very well might end up doing that and it really deserves to be watched from the beginning. I enjoyed Breaking Bad the same way as yourself, only catching up for the start of the last season. I prefer watching shows this way and whenever anyone told me they were about to start watching BB from the start I would be jealous. GOT gives me the same kind of feeling.

It's not the sort of thing that I would usually watch(never even seen any LOTR films) and during the initial run I pretty much ignored it, as well as people talking about it. As a result of this I avoided any spoilers for when I eventually started S1E1 about 6 weeks ago.

It was so much better than I expected and also much more engaging and character driven than your usual Dungeons and Dragons type fayre.I Got totally sucked into it and would say that it's right up there with BB quality wise.

I'm now fully up to date(binge watching ahoy) and salivating with anticipation for the final season. However if you do start watching from the beginning, good luck avoiding spoilers when the new episodes start. Unless of course you plan to watch seasons 1to7 before Sunday, now that really would be a binge!

That's how I've read it too. Writers have veered so far away from the novels now. The show needs to come to some sort of natural conclusion.

Then I bought the box set, cheaply, of 1-5 and binged it.

Then 6.

Then got a Now TV box to circumnavigate Sky and watched 7.

Then mourned for it, probably more than I did the guy who encouraged me to try it. GOT outlasted him!

"I must admit, I was one of those people until I started watching it. Now I’m hooked and every day feels like the longest on the build up to the final season.

These people just need to give it a chance really "

I started watching it when my brother bought me a T-shirt with

“Sorry ladies I’m in the nights watch”

I didn’t understand the reference. I don’t like watching things while people are talking about it, I don’t like spoilers

I watch it - but I wave in and out of caring about the plot.

It was on so long ago I've forgotten what happened in the other series.

Meh

It's good but it's not amazing.

Haha

It's really not as amazing as everyone makes out though is it.

It's something that I watch for the 50 mins it's on for - I enjoy it -then I forget it.

It's a time filler.

Masked and Distant

I won't be watching it, not that I won't watch it at some point.

Only seen a couple of bits of a couple of episodes.

Is it too late to start watching? Will I need to start from the beginning to understand what is going on?

Probably best to start at the beginning, but there's 8 series so be prepared for the long haul

Too late for me then.

I'll wait for all the subtle GoT quotes in conversation.

I don't think so. It would feel a bit weird if there was a happy ending I think.

I watched half of the first season and it was... Meh. Not bad, mediocre other than the phenomenal eye candy. Never went back
