Started a new freelance contract this week, travelling one way 280 miles. Anyone else with a horrendous commute on a Monday to make ends meet? The contract marketvas been tough so far this year. |

I go where the work is but have the luxury of being able to turn down jobs where the commute doesn't match the enjoyment I would get from the work.
I've accepted Newcastle and Bristol in the past but turned down Elephant and Castle, which allows me to sleep in my own bed.

A tough market for me at the moment. I agree if you have an interesting town it can be enjoyable, but not somewhere like Slough or Bradford. I try to ignore London unless i can find a reasonable guest house/hotel |
