Everyone has different options. Best way is to get out there and judge for yourself

East Sussex

There's a lot of snobbery surrounding jewellery. Have a look at various jewellers, compare what they have to offer and choose something you like regardless of where it comes from.

Congratulations!

Depends on your budget but I think most women would prefer something unique not mass produced.

Just cheat and put it in a unique box

Great tip. I know she wants something not flashy or big. Simple. Like me. Lol

Find a local jeweller and get one made, get involved in the design and make it unique

There and to the left a bit

So many "it depends" answers - it's very much an individual thing OP from both a taste and affordability perspective.

Your best bet is to do what you plan and go and have a look for yourself.

Congratulations though

Try a cheese and onion hula hoop crisp.

That way, if she doesn't like it, then you still have a handy snack to go at.

I second Jewellery quarter. I lived near there and it has some great family run places.

Bedworth

When hubby proposed to me he took me out for the day, on the anniversary of us meeting. We sat on a bench at the top of Hatton Flight and he proposed with a haribo ring, made me cry

We went to town the following week and chose the ring together, from a small independent jeweller shop. We chose a cluster design and had it changed, rotated the cluster 90 degrees. It took them 6 weeks to do but was worth the wait

I reckon you will get something unique and decent value in a pawn shop so many divorces going on

Chams or Socials

I didn’t want a ring but I got one a few months after he asksd me to marry him - a year to the day before we married. I’ve no idea where it’s from, how much it cost & I don’t care. He chose it for me and it means more than anything x

I found a working jewellers and had one designed and made.

Got to choose which diamond went in it, got to see a resin cast of the design before it was cast and then free lifetime cleaning as it’s a custom made item.

Congratulations!

If your fiancee to be likes quirky jewellery, try Stephen Einhorn or The Great Frog. We both have pieces from these places and they are superb.

Would second the bespoke/cast option. Our wedding rings were designed by my ex-bro on law and cast from white gold in Hatton Garden for the price of a low- to medium cost High Street jobby.

I love the great frog and got my eye on the skull engagement ring, just need to find the guy. I got my wedding ring years ago at Jeremy hoye in Brighton. He does unusual rings but pricey.
