Do you get the feeling she doesnt think Charles will make a good king? she aint for stepping down is she........

Think the queen is fab....met both her n Philip in Aberdeen a few years ago when they were on their Golden Jubilee tour of the UK.....won't hear a word said against them....great people, humble and down to earth....long live the queen  (and long live View too  ) |

The Queen won't abdicate and hand the throne to Charles, not because she has negative _iews on his suitability, but because she is the Queen Regent until she is physically/mentally unable to reign or dies.
Charles will never be bypassed in favour of his son all the time he himself is in a physical/mental condition to reign.
Remember the coronation oath..."I vow to serve all the days of my life".... |

I think one has ro remember that had Edward VIII taken HIS vows seriously and not abdicated then Elizabeth would never have become queen as her father would not have had to take over from his brother, something the Queen Mother never forgave Edward for as she believes it led to an early death for her husband King George VI.
This had a very profound impact on the young Princess Elizabeth and that is why she truly believes that she will be monarch until she dies and never abdicate. Charles will be King until his death too, but if her maj lasts as long as her mother did she could well outlive Charles in which case the crown will pass to William. |
