I am and I try to be so. I dont have a car and I take public transport. I dont get extra bags at supermarkets I bring my own and other things too, what about you?  |

I pretend to be, but fail pretty miserably. I consume much more than I need and haven’t really consciously worked at breaking the habit. My reuse of plastic bags, recycling and reuse of stuff is a drop in the ocean. |

This is me too.
When preparing food and throwing away the packaging I get slightly anxious having seen the terrible effects on our environment. Its makes me sad. When shopping I try and stuff with less packaging. |

I choose what i eat carefully and try not to gorge myself to keep the carbon footprint of my food as low as possible. We could all make a difference If we consumed less. And ate less processed foods. Are you an over-eater? |

Well I certainly have a car I'm way too posh for public transport me. It's a wee thing though if that helps.
Are you telling me you don't have a car because you want to be environmentally friendly? |

I'm better than some and worse than others.
I drive a diesel. I walk nearly everywhere. I swim a few times a week in a heated pool. I grow my own veg. I use normal detergent. I have four water butts. I fly to Europe a couple of times a year. I don't have my towels washed daily in the hotel.

Seems every time I think we are doing what we can, another news story comes up that tells me "yes...but" this does not make me stop my efforts but does make me wonder what is best. For example diligently separate & recycle, then find local authority sends it to china... |

I recycle but admittedly that's about as green as I go. I try to pass on things I no longer want whether to friends or charity shops.
But otherwise I'm a bit pants I use plastic coffee pods but I do recycle the old ones. I'm admittedly a bottled water type of girl but I've just installed a filter system to stop me using bottled water |

You do NOT fail. When will people stop allowing themselves to be guilt tripped by industry and governments ?
I do not make plastic bags. I do not make plastic bottles. I do not deliver food to shops in unnecessary packaging.
Society changed. We no longer have corner shops to run to for one spud and one carrot.
When I was girl we took our own shoppers to the greengrocer and we bought spuds which were dropped straight into our strong dirty shoppers.
Did the government really think that doubling the cost of the carrier would mean that everyone stopped ' dropping in to the shop'.... and needing to buy bags?
They didn't think it would stop ..... it just re-directed the blame from them and from the manufacturers to you .... and you sit and weep at your ineptitude - which doesn't actually exist..... fuck they've got you by the short and curlies and put your blinkers on.

I buy loose veg and have had to ask the checkout operator to not bag them up at the till on more than one occasion.
They have replaced the plastic off-the-roll bags with paper ones, but I still don't use them.
I recycle everything I think is recyclable and I don't own a car.
I walk when I'm able to-for my health more than anything.
All small things and won't make a dent in the pollution China pumps into the atmosphere, but I'm trying. |

I read an article that said China is no longer taking imported recycling and it's building up in the UK. Wonder what the Goverments solution will be. |

Sadly I don’t have a car , but for my job I drive a small truck for around 2000km per week but it is a low emissions engines truck , I try to recycle as much as I can and our old or unwanted clothes and shoes alway go to the recycling skip . |

I recycle pretty well at home, our vin is always full to the brim after 2 weeks.
I buy loose veg at the supermarket.
I send old clothes to charity shops.
I tried to get a bus into town last night but the bloody thing didn't turn up so I ended up getting a taxi 
I didn't use a straw with my drinks last night.
I don't recycle my food waste though, something I might change I think. |

But it isn’t just food I consume too much of everything- clothes, shoes, toiletries, fuel, still run a car because I need it but use it too often, electronic stuff, music in physical form, guitars, equipment, birthday and celebration cards, stuff for the house, cooking utensils, books, paper, ink, you name it I consume too much of it. |

I always winder how green the selection of plastic bins I've been supplied with (at a cost) by the council are..... .....I'm tempted to put them all in the plastics bin one day and see if they take them all away.... |

I recycle everything and compost or re-purpose what I can. I've reduced my flights per year by a third or so. I grow food. And refuse to buy over-packaged products. I also leave packaging with retailers. |

but many small actions make a big difference, I get the shifting of blame, same thinking as automatic tills, get you to do the work that someone used to get paid for, oddly your purchases are not cheaper despite you doing the work yourself...anyhow..I do believe the personal is political, we can affect change by our individual actions. |

I'm a petrolhead and drive for fun so in that respect, no, but I don't commute in a car and I also upcycle or recycle everything I can. I try to be as sustainable and ethical as possible with everything else just to balance my car hobby out a little. |

I try to be green, it's really hard when everything you buy comes in plastic packaging.
I put a cardboard box in my work place kitchen for plastic bags so that no one has to buy one. You put bags in when you have too many and take one out so you don't need to buy one. This obviously didn't work as everyone just took the piss and filled it full of crap.

Im an obsessive recycler. Our council are brilliant for recycling. Probably put my small wheelie bin out one a month and it's never more than half full. My parents have got chickens so lots of eggs and we grow alot of vegetables down the allotments. And try and buy British to cut down on carbon footprint. Im fun honestly |
