There is always two sides to every story, we all know that but do you always look at it that way?
So if a friend comes to you saying a person has done something to upset them (you don't know the other person) do you consider that there's another side and try to think about it that way in order to help your friend out? Or are you one to just jump in, assume your friend is right and get on with bitching and ripping the other person apart? |

hiding from cock pics. |
I often think there are three sides to any story, what both parties feel happened and what actually happened, emotions get in the way and we don't always remember things clearly.
Plus what people assume is going on in someone else's head might be completely different to what really they are thinking or feeling plus the intention might be completely different to the outcome. |

I don't rip the other person apart, even when I know them well.
I listen and sympathise; which is what most people want.
When people ask me about my ex I tell the truth. I'm not looking for them to rip him to shreds but I want them to know the truth, as they asked me.

Every story has the potential for multiple interpretations and the truth of the matter is never absolute. I empathise with my friends situation and often present alternative perspectives it it can help them to be more objective. However my responses are frequently situation dependent. |

I would assume that my friend was being honest but experience has taught me that their interpretation of events may not match what the other person thinks or feels.
I would try to talk it out with them and depending on the friend and the situation maybe get them to reflect on their own actions. |

There and to the left a bit |
It's easy to get sucked into one side of the story, particularly on here, but I always try to offer a balanced and reasoned opinion that plays devils advocate a little - especially if I don't know the other person concerned. |

I witnessed this at work yesterday. It was like being in the playground again.
Social media involved and a bloody witch hunt.
I don't generally involve myself in that kind of thing but it did make me think ![](/icons/s/neutral.gif) |
