I probably wouldn’t go above 7 inches. And I quite like girthy cocks, just above average when it comes to girth.

I prefer anywhere between about 5 and 7 inched long, girth doesn't really matter as long as it's not too big, as my lady bits are quite grabby when she's happy. I don't particularly like the full/stretched feeling either  |

I've found the rule of thumb is that if it's too big then he doesn't know how to use it. That applies to 9 inch plus.
Guys who are big tend to have the attitude that they just need to show up and that being big covers everything else.
Too big is painful and I refuse to believe that some women get off on painful penetration.
