Just read a post that was dealing with a very serious subject but in an indirect way.
The OP asked a question and the first reply was sort of "don't care as I have no interest in the subject"
Then why post? is it attention seeking, a strange way of trying to get shagged??? Just seems a waste of time and steers the original post away from the subject matter......  |

I've seen it for years on here and it will never change. I've tried to do serious threads and they just end up off topic by people bantering between themselves who don't give a shit about the Op. Unfortunately it's an open forum and people can do what the hell they like on a thread. Some people just like to derail a thread to annoy the Op also, in my opinion. |

Personally, I feel that if I have nothing to add to the discussion I simply refrain from commenting.
Just as an example that I'm plucking out of thin air, on the 'person above' threads, I will only add a comment if it is relevant. To explain what I mean, if the last poster on the thread at the time is a man, I don't comment. I can always come back later and post if the last poster is someone I might be interested in doing something with.
I do wonder if some forumites feel that they are required to comment on a thread simply because it is there |
