wont be England based on that performance, ok we won but that was more due to the fact that Scotland made erors at crucial moments than our amazing play
didnt see the French game so cant comment on how they look but my head says they will win in, although will wait to see what the Ireland Wales game brings tomorow before fully setting my stall out ![](/icons/s/mrgreen.gif) |

Not often u see a wooden spoon decider in a Scotland/England game.
Scotland played all the rugby but in their usual pathetic attacking play.
England played their usual kill the game see every week in English premiership
Two bad teams producing very bad game.
roll on the Wales/ireland game tomorrow at least see two teams who can play rugby. |

"Be nice if we got to take the Calcutta Cup home for a change
To India?"
No, I was trying to be nice, and whilst hoping like hell that England would win, also point out that the Scots have a great record at Murreyfield, having retained the trophy since 2004, but obviously toooo subtle, for you. |

Think the French may do it this year, the indiscipline that we saw in the early stages of the World Cup seems to have gone. Would love Wales to do it just don't think we are there yet. England appear to have gone backward, bring back Johnson who brought some passion and excitement to the English game. |

England gone backwards and you want Johnson back - you must be Welsh!!! England were much improved in one critical area, namely discipline. If that had been the previous squad at Murrayfield the score would have reflected the possession stats as England would have given away numerous penalties in their own 22. England are still a work in progress and need more time to become a team but i'm happy to see the youngsters given a chance to shine.
Can't see them beating Wales though, unless Ireland duff Wales up so much this afternoon that they turn up at Twickenham with Pontypool's 3rd string! ![](/icons/s/razz.gif) |

England played like a new team but one or two positives as they say. Front row more than held their own against a pretty tough Scottish unit, Robshaw looked at home on the international stage as did the two centres although didn't see much from them in an attacking sense.
Scotland butchered some pretty big chances which, even at my level (when I played), should be taken; especially Strokosh's. I don't think Ireland, Wales and France would be too worried. Overall, France for me if they sort out their loosehead prop. |

The northern hemisphere needs a Sonny Bill Williams or ten, more exciting stuff in the three quarters, and stop kicking away possession guys.
.... but what a great match.
Can't see France getting a Grand Slam with Wales and Ireland playing like they are. |

"Not often you hear a rugby crowd boo a ref - but it was well and truly deserved.
A great match, by far the best game of the 3 this weekend ruined by the ref.
"
Ruined by poor Welsh kicking more like.
But yes I do agree about the bad ref........he should have allowed that first Welsh try. R

after this weekends games it has to be wales without a doubt.
they showed true passion, grit, determination and one hell of a defence.
they smoothered ireland and deserved the win and they did it without the mighty shane williams.
if you fancy a flutter, they are a very good bet as they can beat the best in the world on their day |

"Not very sporting was it, the booing. I though Irish crowds were meant to be respectful?"
seems t be more and more acceptable these days to boo during kicks, not in my book though.
Down at the Warriors the crowd all shush each other before the kick
Seems to be a Southern Hemisphere thing to boo the kicker - well that behaviour can stay down there thanks ![](/icons/s/twisted.gif) |

"Ireland have what it takes to win, the frogs have a very good chance as well"
no they haven't - O'Driscoll is crocked - and Ireland are at best an average side without him.
France have yet to show their promise - probably a reasonable bet tho
Wales - once they get over their injury problems and field a full strength squad are probably the best northern hemisphere side, and arguably the second best team in the world after the All Blacks .... problem is they don't beleive it
Italy might pull off a few upsets but aren't in the running .... same goes for scotland
England might just surprise everyone - they make a habit of winning even when they don't deserve to, but overall I think the squad lacks the experience to win this time round.
overall it's between wales and france - both too mercurial to make any reliable predictions on, but whoever wins I don't think it will be a grandslam year for either. |

Wales to beat England (but a lot closer than most people think)
France to beat Scotland

They can do it if they stay out of the sin bin and make their kicks count!

It's either going to be Wales winning due to a spectacular show of disciplined forwards advancing past the gain line supported by eloquent free flowing back play ....
... or England winning by converting more penalties, a charge down and a last minute drop goal. |

Gutted for England, and I'm Scottish. Massive dislike of the team ethos in the Wales camp, an the disregard for rules, player safety and the spirit of the game over the last few years.
They may be the 'best' northern hemisphere side at the moment, but their coaching staff are too quick to make excuses for dangerous play.
Do think england lost that game rather than Wales winning it. To drop 3 points when you're a man up is pretty shocking. |

As a Scot, enjoyed the game, both sides made basic mistakes but wales were more resiliant when it came to the crunch. England need to get away from the old idea of slowing the play down every chance they get and start moving the ball. |

fair play to wales... but i am not sure the game should have ended like that....

Nope - time was up before the attemtp to score the try so the advantage dies. Walsh checked with the TMO that that was the case. |

I am proud of the way England played today... many a time in recent years I have watched with dismay at their ill discipline, even when they have won.
I appreciate they are inexperienced, but they aren't giving away stupid penalties quite so much, and they do have talent.
Its tighter and tidier that under Johnson, and it was an exciting game to watch. |

Consistent illegal binding in the scrum, deliberate scrum collapse on a regular basis. Consistent dangerous tackling, with the coaching staff quick to disparage the referee rather than the player.
Cynical fouling, diving for penalties.
For me, when a 'win at all costs' attitude prevails, you lose the passion and the spirit of what makes rugby great. |

I agree, that England have slipped in to the old Welsh 'win through penalty kicks mentality'. They don't look capable of scoring try's (like Scotland), and Wales have looked by far the best team this year. |

Ireland should have won it today, they had enough chances and for 50/60 min they could have won it.
France is Irelands achilles team in the six nations. They havent won in Paris for 40 yrs.
It was a game lost for Ireland I think.
Fingers crossed they will end the championship on a high, they should do well against Scotland and will beat England I am sure ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |

When a team plays well they create their own luck.
Mind you, they haven't been that lucky with their kicking recently or they'd have won their games by a greater margin.
However, its the mark of a good side that they can give away points and still win games.

Wales win by luck ???!! Or is it by converting pressure into points.
did scott williams try at twickenham draw on luck that lawes was not strong enough to stop the ball getting ripped off him the kick ahead a lucky bounce or the way the ball was kicked the turn of pace to beat the defence.
Was it lucky that bradely davies did not get sent off at the aviva he deserved red. ferris got yellow in the same game penalty yes yellow no not that would have affected the game luck or the refs split second interpretation
is it luck that on current form there will be i would say 8 welsh at least in the lions test squad . probably 6 irish and english with maybe gray from scotland.
Is it luck to say lancaster should get the england coachs job full time i would say no he deserves it the way he and others have rebuilt the english team after the world cup shambles give that team 3/4 years rwc final england v wales hmmmmmm |
