Which Decade Had The Best Fashion?...

Do you think people are better looking now than say 40 or 50 years ago?

When I say fashion I mean clothes, hairstyles, make up, facial hair etc...

I've always wished I was born in the 50s and been a teenager in the mid 60s... looked colourful and just so much more fun!!

Nah that's cool. Love a woman with hardly no make up. I'm not into fashion as such but when you see films made in the 60s or tv shows. Just looks so much better than now.

Manchester (she/her)

I think we're influenced by what's around us whether we like it or not.

I like that alternative styles are more acceptable now than they have been. But wish skinny everything would go out of fashion. Some of us can't do that.

Can you still buy shell suits? Didn't they ban them because of how flammable they were...

(P.S... sorry about earlier, that nightmare I had messed my head up a bit, so vivid and real! I was a grumpy little twat this morning! I can't get banned for calling myself a twat can I???)

The South Near That London

Early 80s, I was really into the whole 2Tone & Mod revival thing, still influences a lot of what I wear today.

London/Essex... ish... Romford to be exact

Fashion now is all corporate dictated as opposed to being inspired/created from a particular cultural movement. All we get now are revivals of past trends. We haven't had any new fashions this millennium, just different interpretations of what we've already had. We had the punk, skinhead, football terrace, rave... But nothing in the past 2 decades of dullness.

1920’s people new how to dress then.

But fashion comes around and back again.

I bought my boy a pair of sneakers this weekend. I had the exact same pair probably when I was his age. He was as excited by them as I was 20 some thing years ago

Wear it long enough, it comes back around. I've been trendy at least 4 times on the same wardrobe...

The clothes, especially the women's, of the 20s and 30s are fantastic.

After that it has to be the 60s, it's been mimicked ever since.

I love the mad men tv programme, the mens clothing looks sharp and the women's look classy.

Compared with my local high street when the majority look like they've raided sports directs clearance bins.

But life's short so each to there own I guess.

I can’t pick an actual decade as I like a little something from all of them and like to mix it up. I just like vintage mixed with current trends.

I love the gowns of the 30’s and 40’s that you see in the old films. Even the dressing gowns were glamorous.

Adam and Eve's era. That fig leaf look was banging. Nothing complicated, functional and flattered the natural form of the individual.
