Anyone had a long distance relationship

Been there, done it. Never again.
It's ok if both people are happy being apart, but when you are the one who has to spend 9 hours in a car every weekend it's draining. Then being bitched at for always being tired.. for a 2.5 day weekend it was too much.
That wasn't including sticking 2k miles a month on the car as well as fuel costs. |

If the need arose. Yes.
Distance isn't nearly the obstacle it used to be. You can get to the other side of the planet with one plane ride now. So opposite ends of the country are hardly a challenge. |

When I first met my wife we lived about 30 miles away and then neither could drive so we always met at a place some where in between other wise it would be 2 buses and a train to each other’s homes but after a few months we moved into a little flat |

Yea, I was seeing a Girl who lived in Walsall for a while. Was ok, but the travelling up and back soon lost its appeal and getting time off work was not always easy. She was lovely and the Sex was great, but in the end I finished it as the travelling was just a hassle I didn’t need. |

yes I wish mine could be like that but a lot of things happened like finding out she had been using the site without my knowledge for the 3 years we were together we are trying it’s difficuly though fully prepared myself to spend the rest of my life with her and only her |

Had a few and none of them worked out. When I was living in Yorkshire I had relationships with women in Bruges, Cornwall, Edinburgh, Kettering and (Royal) Leamington Spa. Not all at the same time you understand but it was hard work, even though the travelling worked both ways.

I met someone off here and we had a great time relationship, with a 3 hour journey between us. Went well for 18 months until I found out he was seeing a girl without my knowledge.
Meeting girls that I knew about on a couple of occasions was fine, but meeting one girl repeatedly and cancelling our own plans ended the relationship. He said the fact that I wasn't there every weekend, drove him into her arms.
I wouldn't consider a long distance relationship again.

All my early ones were long distance (ptr-internet days) none of them worked but then a lot has changed in 25 years - people have relationships these days without ever meeting don't they? |

Me, met a guy off here who lived in Hull, that’s fucking miles away, 6hr train journey or 5 hours drive each way! He’d come down Friday to Sunday or I’d go up Friday to Sunday. Lasted about 18 months. Still speak to him now and again on Facebook 6 years on! |

USA- UK here. Went a year and a half while she finished her degree (we met while I was on a business trip over there) and then she moved over here and weve been together nearly 5 years and are married.
Advice would be you have to have a game plan in place to be together. All of this we’ll do it one day stuff, and somehow we’ll be together shit won’t work, we’d spoken about it and knew that at the end of her programme she would move and live here. We knew the date, the how and everything.
Regular visits are a must, she spent holidays over here and I flew over in between, we’d made sure one direction or another we saw each other every month. (Great for flyer miles)
Culturally you need to take into account that they will be away from friends and family which could strain things, we have a place in both countries so spend time in both over the course of a year, however both parties need to be happy in whatever is your main residence, any compromise on that will turn to resentment. You also need to help the other person, friends job everything will need to essentially start from scratch, don’t try and be their only person when you do get together, they need new people that aren’t you.
All i need now is to secure her a solid source of attractive females and everything is perfect.
And to the people who are years and years in a long distance relationship where they never see the other person and don’t have an endgame. Stop kidding yourselves, they are a friend, and you need to either go out and meet someone new, or get yourselves a solid plan to be together. |

Calling someone greedy because they have more than one lover on a swinging site is not an insult. If that was an insult then saying you don't shag a load of randoms on a swinging site where many people shag lots of people is too.

I had one that lasted 2 years, we lived 90 miles apart. We travelled back and forth, saw each other 2/3 times a week.
My current partner lives 6 hours away, if it's where you want to be, the distance doesn't matter. |
