"Is it a spin off?"

It’s set in the second age of man that’s confused you more

i always feel sorry for folks that cant get into the lord of the rings books because you are missing out (i mean that in the nicest possible way)..to me they are the best written books out there...froddo and sam are just charactors from a book..i feel like they are real people and i know them.there hasnt been a month go by in the last 20 years where i havnt been reading the lord of the rings books...i will admit the two towers is a challenge read though..

i read the books when i was a kid and i enjoyed them to a point but it wasnt until someone told me that tolken wrote the books because his grandson asked him "why were you fighting in the war, what was the reason?"

it was his way of trying to explain to his grandson why people go to war.ever since then the books took on a new meaning

And that’s what books should be but we are individuals and that means we all like different things

Me too.

My only disappointment in the films were that they cut out one of my favourite characters (Tom Bombadil) and what was really a pretty essential background section to the story with the barrow blades being taken from the wight coming from Westernesse and woven with spells to hurt the witch king of Angmar ie: The Lord of The Nazgul

I'm not really any the wiser. I read the books when I was 18 and have watched the films and enjoyed them but I can't say that I know the story in great detail. I don't have Prime so I doubt I'll be watching anyway

We shall have to prime and drill as opposed to Netflix and chill

It's all about the age of Númenor, so basically the rise of Sauron. Super excited for it

Liphook

Read the books, watched the films, love fantasy. I’m not going to not watch it. But more excited about GoT final season and the pending Wheel of Time adaptation tbh.

I loved The Hobbit, but didn’t finish Fellowship. Need to start again probably.

Tolkien is a big influence for things like Game of Throbes and Harry Potter.
