"Stone Roses - Fools gold (1989)
Neu! - Hallogallo (1972)
Wire - Outdoor Miner (1978)"
I was listening to Fools Gold just the other day. Hard to believe it's 30 years old! Still sounds fresh.
London Calling - The Clash
Long Tall Sally - Little Richard
Won't Get Fooled Again - The Who |

Good choices. I know, if I haven’t heard ‘Fools gold’ for a while and I put it on, I’m always amazed how good it sounds, funky as fuck with nonchalant vocals. |

Not having the Roses, they've been sounding dated for the best part of 20 years.
Bonus point for Wire though, I never expected to see them pop up on the music threads of this site.
Just need somebody to post The Fall now. |

It's true, it still effortlessly flows downstream with the current. To me it always feels like a song beyond category, separate even from the rest of the Roses catalogue. A one off. I certainly never tire of hearing it.
Going Underground - The Jam
Walls Come Tumbling Down - The Style Council
American Girl - Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers |

Fleetwood Mac - Green Manalishi it's about 50 years only and still sounds great to me "
What was the Fleetwood Mac song they used for the mobile phone ads, with the dancing horse? Was it "Everywhere"? |

Dock Of The Bay, along with American Pie and Bohemian Rhapsody, is a song that should never ever be covered (apart from by buskers) as you can't improve on perfection!!
To add a couple to the still fresh list:
Rappers Delight - Sugarhill Gang
Ghost Town - The Specials
Tenderness - General Public
Blue Monday - New Order
Boys & Girls - Blur |

Take it back a few decades to the 50's & 60's.
Then, anything sung by Frank Sinatra, plus the UK's Matt Munro.
Younger people on here are possibly asking, "Who?" but these were the styles I grew up with before the arrival of the Beatles etc. |

Matt Monro was a brilliant singer/artist. Huge collection of songs and albums. His talent will be well appreciated by the older generations. |

Not an individual song but I put on massive attack's Mezzanine the other day, it still sounds amazing.
Zero seven - Destiny, is just pure summer.
Notable mention to Shed Seven - Chasing Rainbows, massively overlooked but beautiful |

They were always in the second division at the height of Britpop. |
