On their death bed, will they look at the space where their spouse and kids would have been if they'd been capable of forming a relationship with someone, rather than their own reflection. And think, "well, at least i managed to bench 200lbs"?

Not everyone needs a partner and children to feel fulfilled in life.

Controversial

I think it’s good to have a hobby, if that’s something that gives them pleasure why not.

If it’s to the detriment of building a life there’s plenty of CEO’s that would have the same deathbed woes.

Cause no one person has managed to combine going to the gym regularly and having a family.

It's more likely to be the nerdy gamers, or internet perverts, who rarely leave their bedrooms, who will die lonely.

The gym is used by me to keep healthy and also as a hobby. You either chose to go or you don’t

Trying to mock people that go is pathetic. But I guess that’s why you look like you do

I would imagine most people that go to the gym are not going for ego boost such as I can bench 200lb rather for health benefit. Going to the gym and bragging about benching is really a young man's game.

Just like food you have to eat daily, exercise could fit in the same categories difference is exercise does not have to be in the gym and you will not die without.

Going to the gym and benching 200lb+ regularly is as bad as not exercising because very likely in the end you will come up will a health problem for lack of or too much.

The gym only takes about 6 hours out of your week, much less than a lot of hobbies.

Come and join us clem, the family will still be there when you get home.

Showers after can be fun to

Habitual wind up merchants, will they look back at the space where their spouse and kids would have been if they'd been capable of forming a relationship with someone, rather than their own ego. And think, "well, at least i managed to mildly annoy some people on a swinging website forum"?

I can somewhat see it from OP's point of view.

My ex had a body like a God . He spent so much time in the gym then playing football for his team, we rarely saw each other. So we broke up.

I've met the type before, felt sorry for the guy. Was addicted to his stats more so than the love of his wife.

You get people who are attached with kids going to the pub straight after work and staying there till closing time. Often spending weekend there too. I don't see him making generalisations there

Cause it takes, oh a few seconds to start a thread, then you can go about your day, replying to random strangers at your leisure. I’m typing this while I’m waiting for some skimming to dry, now I’ve finished typing, I’ll start plastering again.

Well the criteria for health would be met withiut six times a week ( assuming no special conditions health wise apply).

But daily activity is a huge boost to health and wellbeing.

Congratulations .

Some can in extreme circumstances , use exercise and training as a cathartic mechanism . Allowing they to feel better without facing issues they need to resolve.

The biggest issue can be cognitive dissonance.

Year by year trying the sane process to achieve different results.

The golden mean applies.

If it gets you some action then why not, isn't that why we all came here? Lol I'm sure they'd have time to go home with another gym user say and bondage the bangle off each other and still make it back to the gym the next day

I go to the gym 3 times per week Clem and I still have a belly. I go because I like to eat the foods that I like and it makes me feel healthy. I don't find 3 times per week excessive but it is habitual. I had a long spell away there until recently but I'm back again and in a routine like I was before. As said above, it's 6 hours out of my week and if I want to form a relationship down the line I'm sure I can manage to do both, I also have friends who manage it which only convinces me more. I got me wee belly(I’ve named him Pod and he's a dick, don't even talk to him) when I stopped the gym for a bit and I definitely want it gone again, but just for myself like because I don't feel as confident or as comfortable with it. I am a little self conscious in fairness I suppose. I think if it's for health reasons, for competition or just because you wanna be a big bastard then work away. I never used to get it when the guys were grunting and growling while lifting weights at first and then I realised the extra aggression and focus can help release some extra power but I thought they were dicks at first lol If you go to the gym because you wanna look buff and watch yourself in the mirror constantly and run about with your shirt off kissing your biceps and stroking your hairless torso, I'll think you're a bell-end but work away too lol its no skin off my dick

I think after what you're suggesting is a reflection on a lifetime of training, a bench of only 200lbs really would suggest the whole thing had been a waste of time
