I've seen another one up here in Scotland that basically came across as if you are Right Wing then she would still think of you as being too liberal. Was genuinely scary stuff |

It never ceases to amaze me that people look to see what political views people have before they will entertain shagging them .
I guess it’s more important if you’re single and considering a relationship with them , but other than that why would it matter ?
In the real world if you are in a crowded bar or club , do you look for a coloured rosette depicting the party before making eye contact ? How did we ever manage before the internet and profiles on dating sites ? We chatted and got to know people face to face , and as I recall , I never asked anyone which way they leant politically !

Whilst I personally wouldn't put something like that on my profile, and nor would I ask someone's political leanings directly, if in the course of conversation they expressed opinions that were virulently aligned with more extreme views, and particularly opposed to my own, then I'd have no interest in meeting them for a coffee, let alone to get naked together!! |

You're reading a different forum to me. The personal attacks I've had in my inbox over the years for my lefty liberalism posted on these pages should make me hate those with a different political stance to my own. Many I would not meet as their views and behaviours are abhorrent to me. Those that can argue well and behave as adults I will get to know. I don't think any of us do well by sticking in a bubble of our own views. That's how we're in the mess we are in now.

There's a vast difference between right wing and extreme right wing though and I think if quizzed the owner of the profile referred to in the OP would probably have been referring to people with extreme right wing views.
Since stepping into this life, I've met numerous people whose political leanings I wouldn't know - but like I said in my last post, if during the course of conversation someone expressed views of an extreme variety (and we're talking Britain First type of extreme here) I'd lose interest in them immediately.
I'm all for open and honest debate and sharing views with people who differ from me - whether I'd want to have sex with them though (if I knew their views beforehand) is another matter. |

I think there's a difference between a quick shag in a club or party and someone with whom you're going to be engaging with in any kind of extended non sexual way.
In the former situation no one knows anyone else's politics and no one cares, in the latter situation, I suppose it depends how much you care about politics.
We'd certainly find it difficult to get on with anyone to right of the left wing of the tory party and no doubt they would feel the same about us. Its not making judgements about people. We all tend to get on better with people who share our fundamental assumptions about the world. |

If you want a fuck and go then I presume the fuckee's political persuasion is of no significance of interest to you. However, if you want to build more of a rapport with 'like-minded' people, then someone more in line with your own political leanings will be a better match.
Whilst I can distinguish between a 'Tommy Robinson' supporting gammon and a Libertarian or One Nation Conservative, as a leftie, I wouldn't choose a right wing sexual partner and certainly couldn't be in a relationship with one. |

I consider myself non judgemental cause I live and let live, I’m not stopping anyone from voting the way they see fit, or having the political beliefs they do have, I can engage in a political discussion, I can very non judgementally understand what makes a person adopt a certain set of beliefs but that doesn’t mean I want to jump into bed with someone with opposite values to myself mainly cause I prefer to really really like my sexual partners. I’m just exercising my freedom of choice with regards to sex, simply cause thank goodness I can.
Asking you to skip me if your ideals and values are right wing is not judging or discriminating against you, it’s a means of saving us both valuable time, cause I’m nice like that

I consider myself non judgemental cause I live and let live, I’m not stopping anyone from voting the way they see fit, or having the political beliefs they do have, I can engage in a political discussion, I can very non judgementally understand what makes a person adopt a certain set of beliefs but that doesn’t mean I want to jump into bed with someone with opposite values to myself mainly cause I prefer to really really like my sexual partners. I’m just exercising my freedom of choice with regards to sex, simply cause thank goodness I can.

I try to avoid that tbh. I had a guy I was talking to from a dating app. He mentioned brexit. He was a leaver and I was the opposite. We had a phone conversation and he wanted to know why I wanted to stay. I ended up saying that I would prefer to wait until we had met and was in person and I wasn’t prepared to discuss it at that point. Don’t get me wrong, I would enjoy it in person once I knew him better. Me and my male bestie falls out all the time over politics. We have too much to drink and that’s it, it all goes off. Thing is, he studied politics as a degree so I’m usually out of my depth but I give it a good try. |

Many I would not meet as their views and behaviours are abhorrent to me. Those that can argue well and behave as adults I will get to know.
