Lol it's interpreted in different ways.
I see some women like to be called a slut and a whore, but slag is big no, no for many. |

Really? It came up on every google search I put in.
It’s the connotation of the word that offends, it’s not really that difficult to grasp why. It’s like when men would be offended by being called a “puff” (apologies for the use of the word) because it was to negate their masculinity. Slag is used to make out a woman is morally less than another woman- ergo, offends x |

Slut and whore have kind of become owned by women themselves now, think alt/bdsm etc, whereas slag is a word that remains derogatory. Women don’t have to accept it, just because they accept other words x |

Some offensive words are reclaimed by the targets of the group, like queer or the n word. Some aren't. Some are problematic (the n word being one of them) or partly reclaimed. It's generally best to leave them alone.
Slut and whore have been reclaimed, at least in part. Slag has not. |

It's an awful word that's brandished about way too often

I hadn’t meant that you had no reason to take offence when it’s aimed at you. Though there’s no reason to take offence whilst discussing it. Surely if you personally don’t deem yourself to be one, why allow it to pierce you?
