Due to the recent unrest in Cairo, the Foreign Office has cancelled all flights to Egypt with immediate effect.
Anyone travelling to Egypt in the next few days should contact their tour operator for further advice.
Thomsons are understood to be offering alternative accomodation at the Premier Inn Trafford Centre, with meals being served at the local KFC.
For those still wishing to travel, flights are available to Cyprus where travellers with then be transported to Port Said by local fishing boat and onwards by cross country camel trek to their allocated resort.
They have advised that any tourists taking this option should wear long trousers with elasticated waists and ankles (to prevent sand getting in).
In related news, the Egyptian Government has put a temporary ban on all hotel spa and massage treatments in the Sharm el Sheik area.
Apparently this is in an attempt to prevent the localised flooding expected in the next 10 days.
