Why are some people obsessed with having their photos fabbed? Is there a secret competition that I am unaware off on here ? It comes across as being a bit desperate  |

Because they like the attention and the sense of achievement getting to page 1 or even #1 gives them. It's pretty normal really  who doesn't want or expect to be appreciated for a job well done? It's no different to a writer plugging his book wherever he/she can, or a singer promoting their latest single |

I've never understood it. I get the feeling that it's for an ego boost left at another form of Fabs top trumping. I've disabled it on my photos as I've no desire to take part in a populariy contest or have randoms Fabbing them. |

Some people genuinely just like sharing their pics are exhibitionists, one of our friends loves having her photo taken and sharing she's is regularly on page 1, but I can assure you its got nothing to do with being in a popularity contest |

I don't see any harm in it. I think if asking people to Fab your pics brings them to your profile and thus increases your chance of a meet, then fair play to you for doing whatever you can  |

Fair comment, it must be nice to have your photo fabbed but some profiles (they are usually the dubious/ fake ones) seem to promote it. |

Certainly harmless but it personally makes me cringe when I see the Fab begging posts, as that's a bit needy and orchestrated, rather than people naturally gravitating towards your profile and genuinely Fabbing what they like. |

We're all individuals and can use the site for whatever and however we like ... so long as we abide by the rules of course

I don't mind if people want to Fab my pics. Doesn't bother me either way. It's a nice non-intrusive way of showing appreciation for my pics if someone stumbles across them, and much preferable to them mailing me to say they've just used them for wank fodder 
As for popularity contests.. I haven't uploaded a new photo in 8 or 9 months, but some of my old photos still get 30-40 fabs any day I'm online and my profile is unhidden. I don't ask for them and certainly don't expect them, so yeah... I suppose I do get a little boost when I look at my updates and see I've had a few fabs here and there |

I've not noticed a connection between fabs and views as only about 30 - 40 % fab it. So either my pictures are crap or most folk just perv who knows.
As nikki said is very true. Most of the best pictures never get on page one.

It was always like that for us too .
I would put pics up all the time , and we would often hit the top fabbed pic on the site . I would excitedly tell my wife and she was like “ Oh that’s nice “ , as she walked past to do something way more important like making a cuppa ! She couldn’t give a toss and I was so thrilled that so many people found her worthy enough to be the most fabbed hottie on here !
It’s harmless enough and I see no reason why people would be nasty about those who enjoy the attention . |

It's a female competition with being the top FAB photos, it shows the other ladies she is queen superior, that all these people want a her...eg Ego boost, self-worth, value. |

My proposal to fab (which was rejected) was to scrap the hot pics section and replace it with a jizz-ometer. They claimed that it was impractical and too messy to calculate which pic was best of the best....anything scoring over 2.5 l (84.535 fl.oz) made page one.

We all like to feel good about ourselves, surely.
It doesn't come natural to all, and some enjoy the reassurance of others opinions.
It's doing nobody any harm, leave them to enjoy themselves. |
