the worst background for profile pictures

Obviously not everyone is professional photographer & this post isn't about picking on anyone either (stones/greenhouses)...but what (in your opinion) has been the worst background for a profile picture that you can remember seeing and why? |

I've seen pics where you couldn't see floor covering so much rubbish ,clothes and dirty dishes covering it ,dirty toilets etc also sometimes the subject matter doesn't look great mind  |

Toilet bowls... Whether flushed or not.
A toddler standing in a playpen watching as his/her mum/sister/sitter took semi-naked selfies in a mirror.
Some really filthy hazmat-worthy bedrooms.
My favourites though are the 'couple' profiles where photos of the male and female oddly seem to have been taken on single beds in separate locations, and there are no photos of them together, or using a common background  |

ah definately!! - a supermarket public disabled toilet, toilet seat still up, loo roll in the pan, stripped naked piled of clothes to the floor and the dreaded socks still on  |

Me too.. That's why I only meet in clubs these days .. I once had a meet and the house smelled really bad and had to step over dog poo to get in the house .. Needless to say I made my excuses with a sharp exit |

ooohhh.... socks on a naked man's profile, doesn't that just do it, a bit like leaving your grundies on round your ankles ("grundies" - mens underwear that is poor in choice, colour & smell) |

There is a lady on here with pics of her in the shower and her kids toys are messily dotted around her while she's frigging herself off.
It makes me shudder because those toys are getting her bodily fluids on.
Otherwise dirty finger nails in pics bother me more than back grounds |

What on earth possesses anyone to use their children's room as a photographic studio I don't know. Anything with family photos in the background is awful too - some of them are so poorly blurred you'd be able to recognise them if you knew the family. The worst I remember seeing though was what was obviously a holiday shot where the guy was standing next to a child whose face had been scribbled out. You must be ten tonnes of desperate and lacking very basic boundaries if you think that's okay to post up on a site like this. |

I've seen homes that would be perfect for those OCD clutter collectors. Bin bags full of horded stuff, waste, everything piled up, boxes, bags, assorted items, as well as used clothing scattered about. I don't know if they have space for sleeping or sex but am not going to go see. Some pics have had pet bowls in them. I dislike the toilet bowl pics: it's unimaginative and asking for trouble
If in doubt, take photos close-up, so that there's no space for anything other than your body. Have a clear background, such as a plain wall. If you're wearing patterns, then a patterned wall will increase the overall clutter feel of your pic. An outdoors photo is a good alternative, perhaps with a somewhat blurred green, or sky: please consider your state of undress and which parts of your body are on display.
Much of this is common sense. There's a limitation on being able to tell if your pic was taken on a bed in Buckingham palce, or a slum, if you have clean linen and don't have clutter.
I'm grateful to add that I've never seen a pic of anyone with crabs: or where I could detect that they'd got crabs (mods- I mean pubic lice, not crustaceans). |
