The best anything by Kurosawa.
Saw a good vietnamese drama recently called The third wife, and a really funnny Indian kung-fu comedy called The nan who feels no pain
One of my favourites so far this year is an excellent zombie comedy called One cut of the dead, (English language remake in the works) only cost $27,000 to make has taken almost $27m in revenue so far |

Superb film, in fact Mel Gibson is a great director, he's one of those actors who are better director than actors, Clint Eastwood, Ben affleck,Ron Howard and so on |

Irreversible is a really tough one to stomach. I think I’ve managed it 4 times but I have to cover my eyes for that one scene. |

I've lent it out a couple of times, with a warning about that scene, watched it once, probably never again |

"Martyrs (unsettling French horror movie)
The US version was awful
A US version No !!!!
They were going to remake Cinema Paradiso at one time with Macaulay Cullin
Culkin, Damn phone "
Most US remakes end up being a lot worse than the originals because they get dumbed down to enhance their mass market appeal |

"The list is long for this one. Here are 3 of them:
Ring
Kung Fu Hustle
IP Man (Looking forward to the 4th one)"
IP man 1-3 all stared Donnie Yen
IP man The final fight the 4th one stars Anthony Wong as IP man when he's old and it's no where near as good as the first 3 |

A very long engagement.
Great shout outs for The Raid 1 & 2
But let's not forget Golden Harvest films that started the 70s Martial Arts films with Bruce Lee;
The Big Boss
Fists of Fury
The Way of the Dragon
Not Enter the Dragon as that was an American production |
