Yes I saw the first one the other night and thought it was brilliant. I had no idea about those houses and house mothers or the balls. I’m recording the series to watch at my leisure. |

I knew about the Balls (or thought I did) but I didn't appreciate how serious the house structure was and the role of the mothers.

The Balls were from a Latino/Latin American scene, dressing up and strutting your stuff against a defined theme. The 'houses' compete against each other.
