I know this is a little off the subject but i think screw top wine just isnt the same as corked wine!

It's not as fun opening it!!

wrap the bottom of the bottle with a tea towel and hit it gently against a wall or hold it between your legs and hit the bottom of the bottle with a flat shoe

gonna try a sharp knife, push in a bit then twist and pull, will let you know if it works

Get a piece of string, push cork into bottle until released, make a look in the string and thread into the bottle, hook the cork and pull, saw it in a posh restaurant, works a treat when a cork breaks in half

Its what they do when a cork breaks as they are unscrewing it or the cork is deep in the neck. Much easier, especially in the last instance to push it in, that way the cork doesn't get broken and loads of pieces floating about in the wine
