Chatted to a woman with a ‘Feminist’ T shirt on today, I made the astute comment ‘So you’re a feminist then?’

She said of course, who isn’t, it’s a default position really. I just agreed cause she had cracking pair of tits.

So, was she correct and what would have been your reply to her ?

You know feminist are supposed to be the most sexually frustrated and the most kinky, like conservative women only more aggressive.

I thought their was a feminist museum or feminist attraction off the M3 near Basingstoke. But Birdworld is an avian bird sanctuary.

Wrong type of twitching for me...

Im all for feminsism but think we should be allowed to celebrate our differences too. I dont want man stuff all the time, I want things to be allowed to be girly too and men to have manly things.

I think feminism is quite misunderstood. I would class myself as a feminist. Modern feminism actually also stands up for men, as in the fact that suicide and violence among men is an issue is all part of that same problem of living in a patriarchal society.

Equality is also problematic in a way, because things like pregnancy and childbirth mean that there are times in a woman’s life where we can’t be equal, but equal respect should be given to mothers & fathers, between caring roles and traditional earning roles. So it is important to acknowledge the differences between us all while striving for a society that values all roles equally.

I actually don’t know if my waffling makes sense.

Equal is never the same as identical.

Pretending the differences dont exist is pure folly, those differences are in part what bring people together...even on fab sometimes.

Perhaps we should look more at equality in what and how we share lives, work, relationships so that all are equally valued for who they are, what they do, and how those differences, whilst recognised, are valued for the unique contribution each one of us brings to whatever circumstances we find ourselves in.

I meant to reply to that. Equal is not identical, but for a while equality was making women into men. Feminists can still wear make up, like heels and be feminine. There’s a lot of misunderstanding about this.

I'd put us all on equal pay if I could.

It's about, as the name implies, putting women first. Far from equality. I'm totally down for equality though

Agree with you

Extreme feminism is not a good thing at all , just as any extreme belief system is rarely good .

Men only get paid more because they have more testosterone and are willing to play hardball to get it. They also guard their pay and keep it secret from all the other men and if they find out another man got a rise they are straight in looking for one themselves.

End of the day they are happy doing the job for the pay until they find out a man was not happy doing it at that price and asked for more and got more.

like omg, youre like totally right, like how dare I, omg.

I wasn't telling women what THEY think, i was telling them what the people who pay the wages think. Why are you gonna give everyone a raise because one guy came in and asked for a raise and got it, thats lunacy.

It’s gotta suck to be living in a world that is never going to embrace that way of thinking .

Even the bloody Chinese have gone in a more capitalist direction !

Any business will always pay what it can reasonably afford to pay , whether that be to women or men . To get the best people to work for you , you need to to be open to paying more to get the best . It’s that simple . So if we as a nation chose to say everyone , no matter what skills they have or not will get the same pay , all the skilled labour will leave to work elsewhere as the rewards will be so much greater . So unless the whole world does the same , it’ll never happen .

And we know that’s never going to happen .

Patriarchal society? We are ruled by a queen and governed by a female prime minister. Sounds more matriarchal to me.
