Eating in Open Plan Office

Maybe it's just me and I should zone out a little more, but does anybody else find it distracting to hear others munching, chewing, unwrapping etc. Hard to focus on work when colleagues are biting into Granny Smith apples, or have a mouthful of nuts.

Am I being too audio-sensitive?!!

Torbay

I can't bear it. My poor office neighbour chewed gum all afternoon today and i literally wanted to staple her lips together. I even considered which stapler would work best.

I'm not ok!

Hearing people eat in public makes me feel stabby

I'm OK in eatery type places- but people chewing and crunching and slurping anywhere else should be illegal!

I had a shitty job years ago in an open plan office - and the woman next to me seemed to have endless bags of crisps, rustly bags rand stinky food

I hated her!

Munching doesn’t bother me but there should be a ban on smelly lunchboxes!

Eggs & fish have no business in the workplace.

I've definitely got it.

I hate tapping and other people's music etc ..

But the food noises are the worst!

Stinky crisps on public transport is my idea of hell

I'm so glad it's not just me. I might need to remove all sharp objects at lunchtime!

Years ago when I worked in a big office, yer man across from me used to put his head right into his desk drawer to eat his sandwiches, weird lad.

It's un hygienic to eat at a desk. All those food crumbs etc.

It's also bad for your digestive system. People should leave their desks to eat. There should be designated areas away from work stations to eat

Sadly most work places don't have them, we don't.

I hate the sound of people eating. Funnily enough I love the sound of a sloppy bj

Manchester (he/him)

The offices where I work have banned people from eating at their desks after one worker had a tuna salad for breakfast. The whole office stank like cat food for the rest of the day

Yes you should!

But I don't understand why they are unaware it's disgusting

I would never crunch stinky egg fish crisps at work or on public transport!
