"What are the signs that you’ve crossed the line from someone that’s keen on sex to being a sex addict?
Asking for a friend "
I'd guess a sign would be hairy hands and bad eye sight. |

When it results in you seeking sex from those you never would have otherwise. This may include members of the opposite sex (even if you're genuinely straight). This will give you an unimaginable high alongside an almost unbearable level of shame. This confused mind will make you feel broken, distraught and helpless.
When the shame can be so great that you feel there is not a single person in the world you can talk to about it.
When you feel you lack any real control over your life.
When the "civil war" in your mind starts to cause depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts.
When the real you feels imprisoned, while this sexually deviant "invader" runs wild. You literally lose the real you.
When you potentially lose your friends, family, and career. But you don't care, because all that matters to you now is the next High. Sex is all that matters. It's all the world has to offer you.
So... You prob don't have sexual addiction However you should always be vigilant of it creeping in |

Plenty of info online. If as many people who do that daft BDSM quiz did the sex addict check list I think it would be an eye opener.
Basically like any addiction, if it's impacting negatively on your physical health, your mental health or your day to day life then you may have a problem that needs addressing. |

When you start spending so much time focused on that activity that it impacts your normal life. When you start looking for excuses to play out that addiction when you start lying and when you start feeling shame. |
