What is the weirdest fruit or veg that you have had. Just made a prawn stir fry with loads of veg was very tasty shredded some black calvados cabbage and was very yummy. New fave veg is asparagus though. |

Wait till the asparagus comes in in late March...imported stuff bears no relation to its yumminess
Lotus root is probably the oddest looking thing i have eaten. was very common in taiwanese cooking. |

"asparagus makes your wee smell"
Phew, just as well I don't like it then; but love fresh pineapple
I find fennel kind of strange, always think I should be having ouzo/ricard/sambuca etc when I use it; any excuse really. |

Tried most veg, nothing weird that I can think of, but then I did work in the veg section for Waitrose a few years ago!
Still not tried Plantain, but then I don't like spicy food and most of the recipes using it are of Carribean origin and contain spices! |

Just slice it, shallow fry in olive oil with a little black pepper; lovely (although I tend to add a bit of all purpose seasoning and a little scotch bonnet to mine). |

I'm rubbish at cooking, used to look at the interesting veg in the supermarkets and wish I knew what the feck to do with 'em
The last veg I had was about a month ago, it was frozen peas which strictly speaking is weird and unusual for me |
