I just love to catch someone out. You know they are lying but you let them trip themselves up big time.
Especially men pretending to be doctors on fab! |

Come into my treatment room please. I am a doctor. Just take your clothes off. Put them over there- next to mine!
I’m not a gynaecologist- but I’ll have a bloody good look at it for you!

Ha ha so some people claiming all sorts of things on top of everything else... damn! But not surprised. It is always interesting to allow them to carry on with fibs because you get to see just how far they will go...
I have not been around much recently in the wider arena of threads, but heard all sorts of shenanigans been going on just when you think things are about to be calm and back to normal'ish a few returning fabbers are about to cause mayhem!
One in will make a grand entrance in T -3 days... give or take. Compulsive liar and a real sycophant. Brace yourself folks! |

I have a blanket rule to never accept professional services from Fab, and I tend to view offering of anything like a service (including "a nice massage from a friend") with suspicion. I'm here to meet people and have sex with them. If I were looking for a massage, photo shoot, lawyer (happened), doctor, physio (happened), etc... I'd use a more appropriate venue. |

If you don’t lie, you can’t get caught. "
Exactly!
The problem with liars is they can't stop... because to cover one lie you have to lie over and over again. They actually start to believe it's true and often get confused trying to remember what they made up last week and the week before...
It is astonishing how far people will go. Some of them must be thinking we are all clueless on here otherwise why would they go to such extreme lengths to deceive!?
Sooner or later things start to unravel. I am sure even they must be thinking "should not have done that" when their *game* is about to end... |

They are deceiving you by pretending to be a Dr or a pilot in a hope that would get them a meet as they feel being a professional is going to swing in their favour. |

Flippin heck... blimey! That is just on a whole different level and he is still around...
In terms of people trying to "swing" things in their favour in hope of a meet because they think a persons net worth or what they have/own or have achieved... is going to increase their chances don't get Fab... if only they knew there is no hierarchy on here and it's "you" as a person that counts/makes a difference they may actually enjoy things more instead of wasting potential time/effort on made up stories. |

Depends on the fibs. I sometimes am economical with the truth re where I live. Why? Because it's too early in a conversation to actually say "oh I live in Example ville near the Landmark" but, from experience, a lot of guys will be offended if you say it's too early. So I pick somewhere not too far away. It makes no difference to them and if it turns out they are reasonable, I then tell the truth. |

There are all kinds of professions on here that could be considered 'desirable'. I'd imagine a real Doctor would be high up the list. Many people I've met at clubs and socials are, but hide that on Fab, except from friends so as not to advertise it, or bring issues onto themselves. Personally I don't want to use it as a selling point, but would rather people liked me for who I am, not what I am,though I have to admit it does seem to make a positive difference when people do know. |

Exactly that
Having to lie about yourself to try and impress suggests a lack of self-confidence and given that saying you're something like a doctor is likely to easily be found out if you are in fact a shelf stacker in Tesco (no offence to anyone in that line of work) you're setting yourself up to fail from the off. |

Not that bothered about catching someone out, or playing games and trying to trip people up, or find ways to undermine anyone.
We all have our lives, some may downplay them some may embellish them.
But isn't it easier to just accept people as they are, discover them for ourselves, and make decisions on what we see, rather than playing schoolyard games? |

I'm not sure I would want to find out that someone had led me to want to meet them based on a pic of a dead soldier (see my earlier post) or that I had been duped into believing someone was something they're not because they thought it would impress me.
Would rather find that out upfront and not have my time wasted.
Now that said I don't start talking to people immediately suspecting they are duping me - but if things don't add up in what they say and how they act it's only natural that it raises suspicion. |

And what you described above, I agree it's beyond reprehensible. |

And what you described above, I agree it's beyond reprehensible.
It is but it could also be taken as "catching someone out, or playing games and trying to trip people up, or find ways to undermine anyone." was the point I was trying to make "
I think the point I was originally trying to make was the inference of glee in trying to catch people out. Its inference being game playing and to me a suggestion of the mistrust and suspicion that so often permeates the interactions of some on fab.
That inferred intent of" catching people out", it's not quite the same as finding out about others for ourselves. |

There and to the left a bit |
"Not that bothered about catching someone out, or playing games and trying to trip people up, or find ways to undermine anyone.
Isn't that part of the process of finding out for ourselves, an intelligent approach to discovering others?

I think we're essentially saying the same thing from different angles |

15 minute or so on dodgy mostly American internet sites, and I could be a reverend, and a doctor of something obscure.
But I can't be arsed. I could tell you what I do for money, but I don't do regular things, or regular hours, so I may or may not tell you one or more of my income sources, but I probably won't.

I doubt many people are trying to trip people up and play games. I don't ask what people do, but if someone offers unsolicited information as to what they do for a living ie I'm a pilot and work for Gatwick airport...erm...pilots are employed by airlines not airports then you know you're dealing with a Baron Munchausen type.
