Having just seen a picture of some non alcoholic Becks it made me think

Do you drink alcohol for the effects or because you like the taste of the product? Also would you drink them if they were all non alcoholic?

I like the taste of an alcoholic drink maybe a bit more than the alcoholic effects after a few. I really enjoy a good flavoursome glass of wine, and the flowery maltness in bitter and crisp thirstquenching edge in (eurofizz) lager. I like the relaxation a drink can bring and I believe that it's a threshold effect in that after that has been reachesd, you're purely embarking on a pissup drinking more. It's nice to have a comfortable sociable drink. I think in play circumstances a drink has a place in common bonding between people and the relaxation it brings helps move things along.

I like the taste, I mostly drink red wine or single malt. I am lucky that I do not get hangovers. I do limit my intake somewhat as spend alot of time at home and do not intend going to far down that road

It's very very rare I drink alcohol simply because I have no craving or need for it.

Shaz though she does drink it and for the affect it has, she don't drink to get d*unk these day's but does like to unwind from work with a bottle of wine on a Saturday night and no, she wouldn't touch the alcohol free stuff lol

"

that's us - if there was a non alcoholic drink with the same flavour (and that's very subjective) then we'd probably buy it in preference.

Taste - rarely drink enough to feel it's effects

Myself and my OH do not drink, I don't like the taste, vodka tastes like paint stripper and wine is just horrible tasting.

The after effects look awful. I'm sure people when they're merry think they look great and jolly and funny. I hate seeing people in a bar on a night out with bleary unfocused eyes, swearing and being loud mouthed. I would hate to lose control like that

Went to a party once where one girl got absolutely plastered. She couldn't get up, just kept falling over, then she started going green - I mean it's unneccessary, but there's always one that falls foul, and for that reason I think a dry night with low or non-alc drinks at a party would be great. We don't need no booze to get our clothes off normally...
