What do you do to get away from the grind of every day life?

Feel like I'm on a merry go round. Same things day in and day out. Work, kids, house work and repeat. Need to release some frustration but always seem to busy. How do ye all keep sane? For me I find it hard to get babysitters and money always seems to be thight.

Since we moved to the hotel that’s in the sticks I rarely get out, I can go up to two weeks without leaving the building and I go stir crazy to be honest, doughnut gets to escape to go and get his kids etc but not knowing anyone round here, it’s hard. I hardly ever switch off from work now, I have made a rule that on our days off, in the evenings (when our shifts normally are) that I don’t leave our room, apart from to go and have a cigarette (which I only have to walk down the hall for), if I kept going down to reception I think I would go mad.

Go for a remote walk somewhere if you have a car. Or a park if not. Sit in the quiet bit of a library and read.

Hide in a room in your house and sit on the forums for hours( this is not what Im doing now honest)

Manchester (she/her)

Find a hobby you can do at home with your kids nearby. I find exercise helps me with frustration.

Exercise is the best. Helps to manage stress levels as well.

With a Monday to Friday job that starts at 4.30am and regular doesn’t finish till 6pm i find week days a bit of a grind but off Saturday and Sunday so leisure and finally time , plus household jobs if required , I’m far from being a DIY expert lol ,,,, Saturdays I regularly have day away on train journeys around the uk , nice and relaxing for me x.
