Is getting d*unk worth the hangover?

Good god - not been d*unk for a good while but a long day on it yesterday and feel like death warmed up today.

Vowed not to get like this again! Gets harder as you get older.

It depends what you have to do the next day.

If you can lounge around all day in pajamas watching Netflix and occasionally walking from your bed to the kitchen to get snacks - then yes it's fine.

But under any other circumstances no.

Being around anyone else

(especially family members ) or having to go outside

Or the absolute torture of having to go to work - NOOOOOOOOOO!

I always make sure the night justifies the torture of the next day. At least then when I'm wallowing in self pity I can amuse myself with memories.

Just drink as much water as you can when you get home before you go to bed.

A hangover is not much more than dehydration

I'm a hangover virgin as I never drink to excess

That being said, what's the fun in drinking yourself into a state where you puke your guts out and then feel like a zombie for the entirety of the day after? Not to mention the cash you spend! It's like paying for the privilege of feeling rotten later. Maybe i'm too pragmatic a person, but I see no benefits so I don't play ball

Not all hangovers involve puking..

Having a night at home with wine or bubbly can also cause the morning after feeling..

Yes. I get d*unk on night's out with my sister and we always have a good night.

I don't do it often though as it takes me 3 days to properly recover.

It's what happens while you're drinking that's the fun bit. I'm never that d*unk that I vomit and I take painkillers and drink water to rehydrate before I sleep.

It's the tiredness that I have to power through; which now takes 3 days to recover from.

I have a few parties in my time leaving me feeling so grim that I swore never again.

Until the next time!

Definately great memories and some I'd rather forget.

I choose my partying a bit more carefully now.

Last time I was d*unk was my wedding night nearly 28 years ago. I didn’t have a hangover. The last hangover I had was in 1989 after drinking 6 pints and half a bottle of Jura malt. I was sick the whole of the next day. I swore I’d never get like that again and haven’t since.

No...I really don't like being properly d*unk.

I don't feel the need to get d*unk to enjoy a night out.

There is nothing worse than waking up after a really boozy night wondering why it feels like malicious elves with jackhammers are drilling through your skull. So I try really hard to moderate my drink. However, I do like a few glasses now and then and to let my hair down. When I was younger I had the luxury of sleeping it off but these days I have too many responsibilities so they really aren't worth it!

Not when you've got to get into the back of a Transit works van and sit comfortably between a Stihl saw and industrial vibrator at about half 5 in the morning when you are then looking at a 2 hour journey to Milton Keynes it ain't
