"Best one I've heard is a Black Labrador walking past in countryside, with owner calling "Bentley"(he chose to ignore her)"
Bentley is not particularly odd - I knew a lab called Bentley, so named because his owner said he could then rightly say he had a Bentley.
I grew up with a lab called Woolwich (named after the TV ads "We're with the Woolwich") which I personally found quite cringey when I had to call him and people would ask why the name |

Unwritten rule in our house is the cats have to have a name with an "ee" sound at the end - currently have Alfie, Ernie and Eddie and have had Ruby, Archie, Edie, Josie, Jezzie and Billie in the past (although Billie was actually Billie Joe after the lead singer of Green Day) |

I've always done this too. I think I read somewhere years ago that a cat learns it's name quicker if it ends with an ee sound.
We have 2 cats at the moment, Jimmy and Bindi.
Bindi got his name because he has a little white spot on his forehead that resembles the bindi spot many Asian women wear.
Jimmy picked his own name! We were stuck trying to choose something and were tossing out ideas and he responded to Jimmy. |

My dog is called Hugo and my cat is called Leon. The dog is always Cobbles though, because he is always carrying stones in his mouth. And the cat gets called Stripey Man because, well, he's stripey. |

No Dave thrived for another couple of years, even after we found him flapping about on the floor after the cat decided to go fishing! |

Not a cat or dog but my son recently bought a chinchilla for his girlfriend off a mate of his. I took him to get it and we told his girlfriend it was called Propshaft . 6 months now and it's so funny hearing her calling it that. We haven't the heart to tell her it was called Milo |

My cat is called Sweetie. She's not. She seems to have a 3 mile kill zone around the house and has single pawdedly decimated the local wildlife. Sometime I get 2 or 3 offer gs a night. She never did this before we moved to Cornwall. |

When I was a teen, we used to have a pomeranian called Cordelia
She came from a litter where all the pups were named after characters from King Lear
How posh is that ?
Mum wasn't impressed cos I got her to answer to Delia Dog |

"I've a rescue dog so it came with its name. Boo. (Think it's from monsters inc). That's bad enough, but shouting boo in a park after dark is not funny. "

My Mother had two cats, both called Molly. When I queried it, she said "I haven't got the breath to call two names, much easier to just have one"
(She did suffer COPD) |
