Books, guys.

I mean books.

What's on people's current read/reading piles?

I'm listening to It by Stephen King on Audible, indulging in some Enid Blyton via Kindle, currently reading The Things We Learn When We're Dead by Charlie Laidlaw. Then my next book on Kindle is Hetty Feather by Jacqueline Wilson, and Trainspotting by Irvine Welsh and The Green Mile by Stephen King will both be arriving in the post in the next few days.

No such thing is too many books.

A world all of his own

Finished reading The Outsider by Stephen King a few weeks ago. Really good book, had me utterly hooked but felt the ending was a little weak, especially for King.

Currently reading A Short History Of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson. Quite an old book now but very interesting and thoroughly entertaining.

I think I have about a hundred books in my bedroom alone

I listen to Audible when I'm doing something else but I still want to read, Kindle on my phone when I'm too lazy to pick up my book and if I don't have my book with me and my actual book book at any other time.

Currently ‘One Day’ by David Nicholls. I know I’ll end up in snotty tears but it’s such a lovely novel.

I love that book so much! Another novel of his, Starter For Ten, is a good read too.

Totally agree...without books I don't know what I'd do.

Just read recently: The Wife by Meg Wolitzer; Kill Your Friends by John Niven; The Reluctant Cuckold by David Mcmanus. Just started to read Adjustment Day by Chuck Palahniuk.

Nothing at the moment. I'm a big Steven King fan myself OP. Under the Dome was strange and tense. The Stand though.. I love that book. Childhood thing I think, saw mum watching the mini series and thought what the fuck is this? Made me pick it up as an adult. It's long as shit though.

He's got such a fucked up mind, I love it.

And the author of the book in my profile pic. Love his historical fiction of the Mongols so far. Not Rome or War of the Roses.

As for Gaiman.. The Sandman Graphic Novels. Good Omens.

Sandman is like a graphic novel version of Steven King to me. Just lots of real humanity and the utter madness that comes with that, the good, the bad and brutally ugly. Added to a bit of sci-fi mythology.

His description of how Italians park their cars is hilarious. So too is how to safely cross streets in any Italian town!
