Ok then following the post about the RBS bonus thingy the fat cat is being presure into giving back. I am thinking grrrr if you cant beat um then join um.
Ok so General Sir Mike Jackson has voiced his concern over the Falkland Islands recently saying that if the Islands were to be taken again then the UK do not have the resourses or man power to re take them again and would therefore not be able to. We have no aircraft available any more since the scraping of the Harrier jump jets etc etc.
This makes me think does Jacko no more than he is letting on. Do we have intel to say that the Argies are indeed planning such a dareing move yet again!.
Your thoughts please folks???????????/ |

i think it was very irresponsible for someone who is supposedly loyal to this country to make statements about our capability to defend ourselves
Argentina is saber rattling having banned ships flying the flag of the falklands from her ports and got other countries to agree. Strangely the right to self determination doesnt see to extend to the falklands, however i cannot see another war in the near future as the last one was more about Argentinian and British internal politics than anything else(ie both sides wanted war)

I don't think Argentina would try to obtain sovereignty of The Falklands again through a prolonged act of deliberate agression such as an invasion.
I think it's a bit of sabre rattling.
We might not have the sea born air defence capabilities that we had in the early 80's, but our allies certainly do - if there's a deal to be brokered on oil and gas, am sure the USA will assist us in some way should the worst come to the worst |
