If you had a whole extra weekend to yourself what would you do with it? Deep clean the house? See friends? DIY? Book a weekend in a B&B by the sea for a couple of days with your walking boots and a book?
All these things would bring me great pleasure (well, maybe not the act of cleaning but the end result would) and I'm really struggling to decide how to use my time. I'm in danger of not making a decision at all and wasting it altogether. |

"A b&b by the sea sounds amaxing and it's something you couldn't ordinarily do. Where are you thinking? X "
I was thinking either Robin Hoods Bay or Bamburgh. |

"Clean house, read book, coffee an lunch with friends, walk along beach then pub in the evening "
That sounds lovely
I wish I lived near the sea so I could fit it all in one day! |

My favourite weekends when child-free involve long walks, friends, perhaps a meal out or a trip to the cinema to see a non-Marvel type movie.
A b&b sounds like a real treat! |

Non-Marvel? You mean Batman, right? |

In the summer it’s not that great, it gets over crowded |

A whole extra weekend? Just a weekend would have been nice. Or a night even.
Back then I’d probably have cleaned the house. Batch cook and supermarket shop without stress. |

I know! It's so much easier to get that stuff done without the kids to look after too. But I'd regret not giving myself the option of doing something nice for me. |

Considering the time it takes to arrange a fab meet unless I had month to plan that would be out.
Movie and lunch with my sister, a night out with friends and a chilled Sunday with a walk in the Peak District. |

I should put a caveat in that I'm not a single parent. That being said, if I was free for a weekend, I'd go somewhere like Durham/York/Brighton/Bath/Winchester. Stay in a quirky little b&b and go and explore the city and have a bath (and then a shower) and treat myself to a nice meal out with a decent bottle of red. And then I'd have a night of really great sex and then John Wayne walk it around the bookshops/museums/galleries the next day. |

Write down all the options that appeal to you on bits of paper and pop them in a cup and just pull one ??? See if what comes out really takes your fancy. You are right though....it does need to be something just for you |

Glad you qualified your bath with a shower there. I was totally about to judge you. |

I just did this, Friday night Chams, Saturday lunch with my bestie, Saturday evening rugby and wine and a long luxurious soak in the bath, Sunday morning lie-in, tidying the house and laundry then out with family for Sunday dinner and pub in the evening with mates! x |

That's a busy weekend! I'd need an extra day to recover |

I agree but it's so rare, and everything just fell into place. Plus Saturday afternoon through to Sunday afternoon was quite chilled really x |

Think of the bacteria "
I did! In Chams! And I am still alive!
Just shower afterwards! |

"Definitely get away for the weekend, I’d go for the city break myself. Cleaning would be not giving myself me time and seem like a normal day x "
This is what I'm swaying towards. The weather's going to be rubbish so the seaside walking would be less than fun. |

Tricky one but whatever you do don’t end up on here all weekend..
I really enjoy a weekend away with my friends but also equal enjoyment can be had by sorting out / cleaning house and then meeting up later for drinks, dinner, dog walk etc etc.
If it was this weekend, I’d be doing the latter. |

I'm a 2 minute walk from the beach and walk on it regularly with the dog. So I suppose it'd be a nice city break or a country hotel with spa. But love the country side so a long walk with a couple of pub along the way would be just as appealing. X |

I know what I'd rather do, my fortnightly free weekend is due 9n Friday and I've nothing planned either |

When my kids where little, I'd spend my weekends, catching up on housework, laundry & then chilling out in a peaceful tidy house.
Now, if I'm not working, it's party time.
Visit friends or family, road trips, weekends away.

I'd get myself prepped leading up. Organise a cleaner to clean the house once they'd left then have mates night out Friday then fab fun the rest of the time. |

I would go back to the beach, walk along the cliff edges, wander across the sand, feel the spray on my face and watch the waves crash against the land... |
