"Has anyone had laser eye surgery and found it effective? I been thinking about it for a while however I have heard result can be a mixed bag."
Op it may not be the best option for someone of your age.
From about 40 onwards we start to develop presbyopia. This is basically aging of the eye, we slowly lose the ability to accommodate and focus close up needing help to read. Laser eye surgery can correct distance vision but can’t prevent presbyopia I’m afraid, eventually everyone will end up needing glasses for close up work and reading.
If you’re wanting to not need glasses at all there are options available, lens replacement for example. A special artificial lens is inserted into the eye, correcting your vision. It’s kinda like cataract surgery but with more advanced lenses. A specialist will be able to advise if you’re suitable for this kind of implant but be warned, it’s significantly more expensive than traditional laser surgery |

My dad did and it went really well and fixed his vision and that was the best part of 10 years ago. I know not all surgery is the same but it can work and work well. |

Yeah i had mine done at london vision clinic (relax smile by lvc on youtube is a full video kf the surgery i had) not cheap but eyes are perfect and have been for years.
They can also fix the age related one the poster above talked about but they really need measurements from your eyes before it starts to be able to put them back |

To go blind youd have to get it infected and not treated.
There isnt actually a way for the surgery to blind you. Unless the surgeon stabs you in the eye or soemthing |

Once thats why you have to have a stable perscription for a minimum of 2 years ideally 5.
Obviously if your eyes get worse every year then it jusy resets them back to 0 but theyll continue t change as they always have.
At lvc if the original surgery doesnt bring you up to your level of vision with glasses they will do a touch up surgery for free but its very rare it doesnt work first time.
Lvc is where you get sent after the discount places fuck up
