Are we officially 'Timewasters'

It's a pain when meets gets cancelled :/
We had to cancel a social meet last weekend , twice :O
The Saturday night, the mother-in-law needed an emergency visit (she wasn't well) so we messaged the couple and they were fine and agreed to meet Sunday instead (yay!).
.....Sunday, feckin' washing machine decides to spew EVERYWHERE!!!! 
1) Clean up water (hours)
2) Buy new machine (approx 1 and a half hours)
3) Remove tw@tted up old machine (40 mins)
4) Clean up mess created by removal of tw@tted up old machine (20 mins)
5) Install non-tw@tted up new machine following instructions after removing packaging (installation: 25 mins, removing packaging: 5-7 mins (I didn't jot that bit down due to losing patience)
6) Look at the pile of washing that needed the non-tw@tted up new machines' attention (please note that it was Sunday, the day before we all have to return to work and school (child x1) and bleat out the words "Oh my f**king god, we have a meet in an hour" ....please bear in mind the facts that me and him were filthy with cleaning up the mess and all and it takes me more than an hour to get ready AFTER a shower :O
We messaged the couple again with our profuse apologies for them to reply:
"it's ok, perhaps another time?" (god bless 'em).
We showered and retreated to our bed for a rest and listened to the whirring of our lovely new non-tw@tted up new machine, getting our clothes ready for the next day 
NB: All of the above is factual!

I just love it when they fail spectacularly like that... like walking into a warzone that's a cross between wet towels used as flood dams and a paddy field...

It happens. It has happened to us but the couple phoned us in person to explain, so it did not feel so bad. We were still disappointed, of course, but not that angry frustrated feeling that timewasters give you when they just don't turn up, no message nothing or cancel as you are halfway to the meet. |

but unfortunately, shit happens in life so I doubt you are a time waster at all!

Nice when the couple are accepting of your reasons and are happy with a postponement. Will give you all an ice-breaker and something to laugh about when you do meet.
