"Which is your favourite species of tree? Mine is Yew, followed by coastal redwood. "
Both of yours are great choices, especially redwood... Theres the runnymede yew that is believed to pre date the saxons! For me I love the ash and the birch.. Ash because in nordic folklore she s known as yggdrassil, most revered of trees plus she takes no prisoners if you work her and dont respect her.. As for the birch, love her for her silver trunks and the fact she gives so much, she s greatcas a heat provider, she produces a lovely sap drink.. My fave local tree is a real old beech, with a hollow trunk that two people can easily shelter in |

I have a coastal and a dawn redwood in my garden, only about 15 ft, mainly so in a couple of hundred years people will ask "who the fuck planted them there???!!" |
