i have a HTC Sensation with Whatsapp messenger, someone sent me a vid from their iphone on there that i want to show someone else but i cant save it direct from the app
i can send it on email but then when i try and open it on my phone it just comes up with a triangle with an ! in it.
its a .MOV file - does that make a difference? anyway i can save it as a different type of file?
i cant open it from the email on my PC but when i save it and try to play it again it doesnt work!!

you should be able to download it to pc from the email.maybe the virus scanner is not showing the mov file as an attachment in the email on desktop pc if it does download ok to your pc the file extension may not be assosciated with window mediaplayer.just launch mediaplayer and drag the file into the mediaplayer window.if it still doesnt play then you may be missing a codec which is needed to play back the file.google k lite codec pack.download then install and try dragging the file in mediaplayer again
i have had a quick google and it seems the mov file will most probably be a quicktime file.which will play on pc with the correct codec but htc users have said some formats of video files will not play back on their handset and will need converting for play back on your phone |

GEEK MODE ON
.mov is an apple quicktime file and so you wont be able to play it directly on the phone without another bit of software
look in the Android Market for RockPlayer for Android and install that then when you go into the app you should be able to navigate to the whatsapp folder on your SD card then Media, then Whatsapp video and it should be there for you to play
GEEK MODE OFF |

I also use Rockplayer on my HTC, it's a much better app for video as it supports lots more formats than the one that comes with the phone.. |
