I dont even know if its real or not...
But I did get blocked from an American site yesterday while looking for places to visit and good routes to ride, as the site decided any European viewers were covered by GDPR and too much hassle to let them in...
So I VPN'ed from an American server, went in and viewed the site. It never asked for any data, and had nothing to fear from GDPR.
So I feel rumors of legislation may be more damaging than the actual law... so just wait and see is the best bet. |

"this cant be real can it"
Yes, it's real - the Digital Economy Bill, or something like that. Due to come into force in April.
Basically means porn sites will need to make sure UK peeps are age verified before aloiwing access to their content - I guess this would normally be asking for credit card info?
But I think social media sites are exempt, so not sure if that covers Fab or not... |

It should only apply to commercial porn sites, those specifically designed for porn itself. Not websites like this which I think will fall under more along the lines close to a sex blog etc. |

The deadline is approaching, so the options are basically:
1. register using a provider like PornHub’s which will come online (hurr hurr)
2. Buy an anonymised confirmation from a PayPoint shop, which is apparently going to be available (where presumably you have to provide proof of ID)
3. Buy a VPN product like Nord VPN |

"Nothing much will happen, most of the internets porn comes from places where U.K. Laws have no control over it. "
Well it will on the surface. All porn sites will be forced to flag up a login page which you must provide a form of ID to prove you are 18+ when viewing from a UK ip address.
If you visit from a country without any similar law you won't see this initial page. That is why VPN is an easy way around it. Without the VPN you will not be able to view porn on any of the major porn sites unless you prove your age. |

Except of course that if the site is reported, the BBFC has the power to compel ISPs to block access from the UK until they do comply, or put the filter at the UK side when the request is made. The date set is now 15 July |

Soft Ether VPN, don't have to pay for it, don't even need to keep it running once you've passed the sites gateways. Most 10 year olds know how to do this, the Digital Economy bills a sham, set up by a bunch of neolithic pillocks. |

Maybe, but their intentions are good.
The ease at which young innocents can accidentally come across porn on the web is outrageous and unacceptable. It's a step in the right direction. Sure, those actively seeking it will find ways, but you have to query in what environment they're living in, if they are ! |

Unless it comes in the post it all comes in through either satellite or fibre optic cables and passes through UK government controlled routers before it gets to your internet access point. So UK porn is the way forward. |

I don't know why everyone seems so panicky over this. Even if hardcore pornography were banned outright, you couldn't fart on the internet without finding it.
Pirate bay anyone? Still running superbly on multiple mirror sites. You can use proxy servers, hide your IP adress or even use the Dark Net to access whatever you want.
Maybe it's a good thing? Less Wanking and we might be more inclined to jump into bed with a fellow human that likes us. Rather than having a fiddle frenzy over two actors having a 'Perfect pornographic pounding'.

Actually - I do it sooooo much better than they do!
Fancy a fiddle frenzy! |

I have a nightly fiddle frenzy, but it's not out of choice |

Personally, I doubt whether FAB would be effected by this new law. The site isn't a content provider and its primary function is to facilitate meets. The government will be much more concerned with video sites than somewhere like FAB.

I think your right. I think Fab would fall more under social media than porn. |

"What's the enforcement date?
I'm sure there will be loopholes to exploit in some way or another."
Use a VPN. I highly recommend Nor dVPN. We've been using it for sometime as my internet is monitored for work purposes. With a VPN I can view in private. |
