What's your biggest regret?
Jump to: Newest in thread
I don't have any regrets. Most of the things I've done or haven't done have been as a result of decisions made taking circumstances at the time in to account and my personality. Some are wrong in hindsight but that's life.
Looking back both of us would have liked to move to Spain years ago but again that's hindsight for you and if we *really* wanted to we would do it now. |

"Not joining the army because my ex didn’t want me to.
She may have saved your life, don't regret that one, you didn't miss much "
Good point well made. But that’s the problem with regret. It hard not to |

Getting married and all the crap I've ever eaten.
Most recently leaving the job I loved for more money somewhere else
However regrets are pointless . You need to move forward and try to find positives
If I hadn't gone through with the wedding I wouldn't have my amazing sons.

"I regret the decades I spent hating myself.
I know I cant get it back but I turn 44 next month- a lot of time has been wasted!
You mean 26 and 3/4 surely.. "
Haha I wish!
Turning 27 was one of the best years in my life - I wish I could go back knowing what I know now! |

You've got nearly twenty years before you reach my age. Don't waste any more time worrying about wasted time |

Not staying on at Uni after my HND to top up to degree- it would have meant I could switch careers and stay higher up the pay scale. Not for me really, but now for my child. But I was young, and couldn't see the bigger picture. |

Before I had popped my cherry I was waiting for the right girl. One night out I sha_ed a bed with this girl that was a right dirty girl. We slept naked together she wanted to, and I refused. Why oh why did I turn her down!! She was fit, filthy and willing!! |

Nothing but I like to embrace life and take a lot of opportunities that arise just because you never know ... would hate not to try doing new things and learning every day! That would be my only regret if I had one. |

Not applying myself academically when I was younger, I wanted to be the same as the majority and go into the workplace....bigger picture = missed opportunities. |

Oh man, what to choose. It would be either not having the courage to leave either of the abusive relationships I was in, or dismissing my concentration problems as 'Miserable teenager not interested in things' and waiting till i'm nearly 25 to do anything about it.
I could be midway through a PhD right now if i'd bothe_ed to address it as a teen. ah well |

Regret it's like a rocking chair, you go backwards and forwards but never get anywhere...
My regret, it's not for sharing.
But for those who regret, the past cannot be changed, the future that's for us all to choose |

"I have many regrets.I guess a lack of confidence has and is still holding me back in life , things in my childhood didn’t help , not knowing where I fit in then and now "
I think it's good to accept that we can't always fit in and to be yourself is just fine x |

That is the biggest, and probably only regret I have... "

I don't regret too much ..but ..I had tickets booked to spend a couple of months backpacking ....then fell pregnant. Instead of just going on my travels I stayed with the bloke and married him, only to send the prick back to his mum's 10 months later ... ahhh hindsight |

I wish I was stronger when I split from my ex husband in terms of having the kids, I understand the reasons they stayed with him as it kept them in their routines as two of them are autistic and he was the stay at home parent but I wish I fought to have them and stay in the house but I can’t live by that, it would just eat me up too much, they are happy enough where they are which is the most important thing but yeah, that’s my one big regret.

"not speaking up for myself for 40 years . I do now!
Choosing one girl over another(now ex-wife)often wonder what might have been with other girl "
Life is really too short to be having regrets, but, if I had to pick something, then it would be not grabbing the chance to trek through the Himalayas when I was a strapping young chap. I was offe_ed the opportunity to spend 6 months there hiking through the region, for no other reason than just for the he’ll of it. I decided not to go and spent some time in the French/Swiss Alps instead. Broke my back a few years later so huge trekking adventures are not an option now |

I have one big one related to a work screw up. However the long term consequences were much better than I could have hoped. It convinces me karma doesn’t exist, because I didn’t deserve my good fortune. |
