How you describe yourself
Jump to: Newest in thread
In profiles most line items are self explanatory apart from “athletic/average/curvy etc”. I am about 11 stone in relatively good shape and call
myself average. It really is all about how you se yourself, I’d also call myself fabulous. I am interested what people see as these different labels and are they really important. |

I think I’m curvy. But, as someone pointed out on the forums a wee while back, curvy is actually for women with small waists, thick hips and a big chest and small legs. I’m therefore not curvy, I’m fat |

I use curvy because I have a big arse a small waist and medium to large size boobs and a pot belly, I go in and out so therefore I’m curvy! Pictures are your best guide. |

I say curvy because I'm fatter than average but ample is such a shit word. I have a visible waist so curvy seems OK. I don't pay much attention to that though, just look at the pictures. |

Ample is a dreadful word. It conjures up images of large built, matronly old ladies. I can't imagine any of us want to be described in that way |

I don't think there is any other way to do size / shape descriptions.
Everyone will have their own perspective on their own body. I felt that curvy best described me.
Photos show that those curves are currently on the generous side, along with a tummy.

I am fairly body confident but expressing that on fab is frowned on so I describe myself as average. Ultimately other people's opinion of me are worth less to me than my own opinion of myself and that isn't very popular either . |

Because it's frowned on I put fabulous. I'm upset that fat people have commandeered this word. I'm not huge. But i like me. And i am fabulous I don't have any issue with being unpopular and I'm not self deprecating to gain popularity or compliments. |

Oh and the worse thing I could describe myself as would be average. That's so mediocre and who in their right mind describes themselves as that???!!! |

Descriptions are subjective and photos can be deceptive. The only true way of knowing is meeting face to face.
If you’re that hung up on size details then don’t meet online. |

Well you've given up apparently so average would work for you. It's not exactly a way of selling yourself is it? |

I’m not looking to sell myself though so yes I think average is a word that best describes my body type, which is the context it’s relating to on here.
It certainly doesn’t describe my personality or looks which are fabulous... |

I've described myself as accurately as possible.
Much as labels may make people squeamish on here, it's the only way of communicating with any relative degree of accuracy who we are and what we look like. In keeping with that, I'm athletic, because I am! |

I would describe myself as average as curvy can sometimes be misconstrued as meaning fat. My lack of confidence definitely determines my view of my body. |
