when we where kids my grandma had a record player and used to buy novelty songs for us to dance to. The one i remember the most is lily the pink, we used to dance round the kitchen table and sing it to my mum as her name was jennifer(there is a line it it that says jennifer eccles had terrible freckles)
Wasnt until years later that i realized the singer was paul mccartneys brother |

I remember this! my mum had it her record collection, when I was really little I can remember me, my sister and her friends, lining up in the room with all our toy instruments and miming to it like crazy! I didn't understand the lyrics and due to the 'Jennifer Eckles' section was convinced it was written for my sister Jennifer. |

The Court of King Caractatus....Rolf Harris.
Whilst on holiday in Spain i was volunteered (along with several other unsuspecting victims) by my sister in law to partake! The dance routine is manic.... ![](/icons/s/eek.gif) |

Got to include good old spitting image:
Hold a chicken in the air,
stick a deckchair up your nose,
buy a jumbo jet,
And then bury all your clothes!
wtf was that song all about lol x

"the laughing gnome - David Bowie "
Can remember when David Bowie was asking his fans as to what he should play on his "final" tour.
The NME was literally begging their readership to vote for that one.

Seven Little Girls - Paul Evans and the Curls. You'll all know it if you're a similar age, Sitting in the backseat, kissing and a hugging with Fred. (Lucky old Fred!!!) Turns out that he's a dog. Who'd have thought a song would have been written about dogging all those years ago lol ![](/icons/s/razz.gif) |
